The FDA web page which lists the devices "cleared or approved" under the Designated Breakthrough Devices Programme does not mention this device. However, the web page hasn't been updated since the 21st May. So it may not have yet been added.

When it is added, what it's actually been approved for, can be checked.

An FDA approval also does not mean that anything works for what the manufacturer claims it works for. Apparently neuromodulation devices can work for pain and essential tremors, which makes sense, since they stimulate nerves.

I recently read on here of another device claimed to "repair nerves" by the supplier, which also is FDA approved. However, the FDA didn't approve it for repairing nerves.

It's difficult to see how a "wearable" device, apparently worn on the wrist can stimulate anything but peripheral nerves and unless somebody's RLS is due to peripheral neuropathy, its difficult to see how it can work for RLS generally.

Noctrix do appear to be a bone fide (commercial) company, but If trials are to be carried out, they would be more credible if carried out by an indepedent team and reported in a medical journal not just adverts or popular press.

I am a confirmed sceptic until proven wrong, especially as these high tech devices are often sold at overinflated prices.

Recently I have seen some papers about the use of transcranial magnetic(?) stimulation (TMS I think it was). I am quite sure that is done with a device placed over the head. Maybe this -if proven successfully- will be called an RLS cap? But whether it will be a 'wearable', I don't know. Just some odd guessing on my side.

I guess it's a matter of perception as to what "wearable" means. An RLS cap would have to be the right colour! A shocking pink one wouldn't suit me.
