Has anyone tried using the Restiffic foot wraps?

I get a doctors newsletter with the latest in natural medicine and supplements and there was a place where people write in and one lady had restless legs really bad and like me the meds do not work for her and said she had tried this but they made her feet to hot so instead she rolled up a small sock and put it right behind the metatarsal bone in the big toe and then used an ace bandage to wrap it round it. she only needs it for 15 to 20 minutes and its worked for her so I had to try it. the first time I was starting to get that feeling ( it always starts in my feet now so I know the weird foot feeling I get before it starts and moves into my legs (usually my right leg but both sometimes both ) it was early evening right before dinner and I was sitting on the couch so I went and grabbed a sox and an ace bandage and applied it and my foot started to almost lightly throb and tingle and no it wasn't tight at all! then the feeling went away and by god, it worked! I left it on for about 30 min or so then had to make dinner so took it off and the weird thing was the rls didn't come back until 5 the next morning! What was weird is it always and I mean always hits within a hour of getting in bed ( I read in bed at night so it happens before I go to sleep) so I tried it again and it worked but not for as long and I'm wondering if I didn't have it in the right spot or wrapped with the right pressure. anyways if anyone has heard of this or tried it, I'd love to know. And try it if not! it sure can't hurt and if it does work you might want to try the actual restiffic. It has mostly good reviews, a few it didn't work for but mostly it's worked ( well if all the reviews are real that is, there's no way to really know. I tend to be a bit of a skeptic because I know too much I think lol).

The only problem I see about it is you need a prescription? why in the world would you need a prescription for it!? and it's $199.00! USD which is a bit much. I had thought of asking my doctor to prescribe it but I doubt my insurance would pay for it and I really don't want to go see him again he helps me in no way, the rls meds didn't work and made me worse so he gave up, no matter if I die of high blood pressure and lack of sleep from it I guess? Anyways I was thinking I might try to make my own! here's the link ck it out and let me know your guy's thoughts on it. restiffic.com/products/rest...

Hi soliticeart,

When I was reading your letter I did like to fact that you got some positive results without the need for "pillpopping". I do need pills to help, particularly when I'm getting ready for bed. I need to take the medicine at least 4 hours before going to bed otherwise my legs go 20 to the dozen.

I was put in the situation of trying to find some effective treatment myself when I asked the GP for "help". She said "You'll have to go and find your own help as I know nothing about RLS". Thank heavens she left the surgery. I was left in a daze wondering what to do, but by noticing that my legs started when they were getting hot I tried kicking the bedclothes off them and found it started to work.

The new GP I was passed to was much clearer and acknowledge that he didn't know "anything" about RLS, but he looked up some information and referred me to a neurologist at the local hospital and she did help. I think it was partly because she had personal experience of someone close so she saw it first hand as a carer.

With all the knowledge gained by many of us, couldn't we set ourselves up as a consultancy. What people on this page know about the finer details of RLS never ceases to amaze me).

On the other hand, couldn't we approach the BBC and ask to do a special presentation about RLS, I would imagine we could come up some interesting choreography.

But seriously, keep up the good work.
