Rls gone at present

Hi everyone..

I'd just like to share my latest experience with rls.

I've had it on and off for several years now,but recently it was for longer durations.

I don't take any prescriptions for it , preferring herbs and alternative treatments.

Fingers crossed.as I write...it's gone (hopefully for good). This is what I've been doing..

I am a retired slim lady by the way.

Firstly I'm going to yoga classes once a week.

Then I've booked massage including legs once a month.

My blood test showed Iron and ferritin levels were ok,as doctors thought it was low ferritin.

I asked for my blood results to be printed so I could take home and study.

Magnesium levels were ok so I've stopped taking mag.supplement as well as iron.

During the day I now take less levothyrixine for thyroid problems as according to docs the prescription for that was too strong..this could have contributed to more rls.

Also during the day I make lemon balm tea only once or twice as it's very calming.

I'm taking a very good multiple B vitamins tablet..

Plus an ashwaghanda tablet.

Before bedtime I take a l.tyrosine tablet which helps with dopamine I believe.. also a passionflower tablet.

I only use unrefined salt such as hymalayan or Celtic sea salt or better still powdered seaweed.

Also before bedtime I sprinkle lavender oil on pillow as it has relaxing properties.

My last herb which I think might be the best is mucca pruriens powder..with a little milk or water.

Iv not stopped any particular foods .. only left out

Wheat..all junk foods and additives all white sugar ,flour pasta ,rice etc,

In other words all refined stuff.

Fingers crossed it's working..

I have another blood test in 6 weeks to check ferritin..iron.. magnesium etc to see if levels have changed.

I do have an occasional beer and drink also mostly decaf coffee and tea..

Hope this might help some people.

Please let me know if doing the above works for you.

Thank you for that..

I'm also looking into the connection between rls and chronic kidney disease which can cause low iron and anaemia..

It seems so much is connected.

See

www DaVita.com

Restless legs and CKD.

It mentions rls may be associated with low levels of parathyroid hormone..

Kidney failure is noted as a underlying condition for having RLS. I so hope you dont have that.

Thank you.. I've just been diagnosed with CKD stage 2.. so mabe it is connected to restless legs syndrome that I've been having which perhaps the doctors have overlooked..as they've never mentioned the connection to me.

Hi janland I would like to also endorse the use of lemon balm tea which I find very calming it can be hard to sorce but worthwhile also lavender oil a few drops on the skin or pillows works as an aid to sleep. I also massage my legs at bedtime using olbus oil five minutes vigorous massage works wonders it probably doesn't work for everyone but worth a try good luck
