According to Wikipedia, its effect wears off after about 6-12 hours. D'you take it during the day, or only at night? Have you noticed any of the common side effects, sleepiness, poor coordination, and agitation?

Use the smallest amount that provides sleep. Actually quality of sleep with benzos is not good, more like sedation. I occasionally use 1/4 mg if I'm so tired I can't fall asleep. But prefer not using it. Long term it damages memory and can be habit forming. It's a good idea to skip a couple days a week or u will soon need a higher dose. Google it and read the latest research.

Hi How long have you been on Clonazepam and what is your dosage?

Just know that this drug is highly addictive. The longer you take it the more difficult to stop. Not impossible to get off, but difficult beyond a few weeks. I know this because it is a personal experience. I also know because ANYTHING to relieve RLS is welcomed! Have you tried Mirapex or Gabopentin?

Hi Nb72, be extremely careful with Clonazepam. It is very addictive, like all Benzodiazepine. Not everyday and do not increase dosage :-)

What is wrong with being addictive to medication as long as it continues to work?

If it's addictive, then possible abuse can occur. You could end up taking more than prescribed. Also, like any other additive drug, over time, you will need more and more for effect. It's the nature of the drug. In the former case, you are mentally addicted. In the latter, it's physical.
