I have been almost 2 years now SUFFERING with all over body RLS symptoms. Sleeping? Forget it!! However......I just wanted to let others know that if you haven't tried it (Aleve Nighttime). I have slept the past 3 nights. It's been wonderful. Hope it continues, and maybe it might help someone else. :-)

That’s great news! It feels SO good to finally be able to lie down and sleep, doesn’t it? Those who don’t suffer from RLS have no idea how good it feels! It is Heaven! Long may it last!

That being said, please be cautious with Aleve.

Why the warning, Jess? Are there unpleasant side effects?

in reply to Pluto46

My husband doesn’t like either of us to take this because of a known long-term side effect adversely affecting the heart. Since heart disease runs in his family, I can understand his aversion to this drug. Just thought I’d pass it on, that’s all.

Doesn’t that have diphenhydramine in it?

Thanks for sharing that tip. Just out of interest what meds do you take for RLS? When did the all over body RLS start?

Yes it has an antihistamine - not really good for RLS. It contains diphenhydramine hydrochloride and naproxen sodium, similar to Benadryl.

But for the last 3 nights it helps me sleep so well, I don't wake at all. But maybe that's why I was in so much pain all day yesterday at work. My arms and legs were excruciating!!!

If it works, use it. Be careful to use only the amount you need - most bad responses happen over a long, long period of over use. Ask your dr if he needs to test you periodically for anything. Lack of sleep also has terrible long term effects, so I’d go for the sleep. Eventually you may be able to back of the Aleve Nighttime a bit. As with most other drugs used for RLS, if you start to need more - don’t! Try a different med with similar ingredients.

The directions are 2 per night. But I'm only taking 1 and it works! So I don't think there are too many worries. Wish I could get help with the extreme pain in my arms and legs throughout the day. Makes for a long day at an office job. :-(
