A new muscular nerve disorder Dr Guduru has really helped me move from augmentation back to almost normal. I’m taking iron pills 3/day as directed as well as using Rotigotine (neuro patch 6 mg/24 hrs.

I suspect it’s the rotigotine that’s helping- not the iron.

If you augmented on a dopamine agonist be very wary - the patch is also a dopamine agonist- watch out for the signs of Augmentation again and ask your doctor why they have put you on 6 mg- that’s extremely high. Recommendation is to stick to the lowest possible dose.

6 mg Neupro patch is way too high for RLS. 3 mg is the recommended maximum for us. If you stay on 6 mg, your likelihood of augmenting on the patch is quite high, moreso since it sounds like you have already augmented on another dopamine agonist. I do hope the iron is helping you. But you may need to also discuss alternate RLS medications with your doctor, such as one of the alpha-2-delta drugs (gabapentin, Lyrica or Horizant). Good luck!
