Hi Carol - welcome.

What dose of Prami are you on and for how long? Have you found that you have to keep upping the dose to get relief? If so - would you research "augmentation" on this site.

If not- then check what you are taking in other medications, as many can aggravate rls.

Cheers.

Hi there - I currently take 0.18 mcg x 2 per day along with Codeine and Magnesium Sulphate. Have been getting very positive results 85% of the time. Occasionally I take an extra Pramipexole if I get RLS during the day.

I think you are slightly over the current recommended upper limit with your pramipexole dose there.

I would be very vigilant against increasing further as pramipexole can turn on you and start to feed the condition in a phenomenon known as augmentation. This gets worse at higher doses. Find another treatment to deal with breakthrough symptoms (maybe tramadol or an increased dose of codeine) and if possible reduce your dose of pramipexole slightly by cutting one of your pills in half (provided they are not slow release).

Make sure your iron levels are high (over 100) as this helps to prolong the useful life of pramipexole. A serum ferritin test is required at your GP and make sure they give you the actual figure - not just that you are ‘normal’.

Hi there, i was on pramipexole an i would seriously say avoid it if possible. I started off on a low dose as suggested by my dr ending up on the max dose allowed and it actually made my symptoms worse giving me rls during the day when i hadnt suffered before. The withdrawl was awful. I now take CBD oil for rls and it works fantastically and cannot recommend it enough.

Hello TSLBK,

I have had the same experience as you on the dopamine agonists. Would you mind telling me how you take your CBD oil (capsules, drops, tincture etc..) and what dosage.

Thanks

Did you have daytime RLS before starting Prami as I found that was an early sign of augmentatjon. It is may years since I have used dopamine agonists but the daytime RLS persists.

I use balneum cream . -even though its for skin complaints it works for me

Am on a combination but tramadol, co-benedopla, tompirate is my main tablets. We do need some help xx
