How serious is DAWS? I have RLS real bad. I've been taking a total of five (5) MG of Pramipexal daily. One MG in the morning, two MG in the afternoon and two MG at bedtime. My RLS appears to be getting worse. What can I expect as I come off the high dosage? What alternatives do I have? I'm really having a difficult time taking all this in.

Check out " augmentation ".

You need to withdraw slowly- check "Nick the Turk" s contributions here.

Also look at Matt Finch site for opiate addiction - the recipes are the same. Clonidine, gabapentin and Diazepam all help.

You can expect a very uncomfortable journey- shakes , sweats , hunger , weakness , tired exhaustion, crying a lot and generally feeling sh$t.

But it will pass - and then you have to face into the great game of " look for the ideal cure for rls" -- the secret of which- is - it doesn't exist !😱 but you can try - gabapentin, pregabalin , tramadol and so on. Do not go back on a Dopamine Agonist.

Oh- and change your Dr from the idiot who put you in this position.

rls-uk.org

rlshelp.org

are both good sites from which to get excellent information .

All the very best.

And keep in touch.😎

All that madlegs said but ask your doctor if he will prescribe Tramadol while you are weaning down very slowly, it can take weeks or longer, as you are on a VERY high dose of Pramipexole. The Tramadol will give some help with the withdrawals. It will still be tough but everyone else on here has got through it when they have augmented on their dopamine med. You can stay on Tramadol afterwards if you find it works some add another med in like Gabapentin . Lots of posts and comments on here about augmentation and getting off it. Good luck..
