Compression Stockings

Hi, I know that for some people compression stockings have helped RLS. Can anyone give me the names of ones in the UK that have worked? initially, because jeans which are tight round my calves can get my legs going, I didn't think it would be worth looking into, but I have decided to give it a go as I assume it is not too expensive if it doesn't work out ? Thankyou

Hi I would be interested in this too! Does anyone use them and they work?

A friend told me you have to measure your calves to get the right size?

in reply to Hartleyhare2

Yes, I have heard that (about measuring the calves). I didn't before I bought mine, but, then again, I was only after the tightness effect. If you have other issues (like diabetes, for instance) it might be a good idea.

Yes I am an insulin dependent diabetic too.

in reply to Hartleyhare2

Ok, then you will want to be careful. I don't know anything about diabetes except that you need to be careful when trying things like this.

Actually, aren't there special socks/tights especially designed for diabetes?

Not sure my wife is an ICU nurse so she is going to sort me out and wouldn't let me buy the TK Max ones. Wish I had as a month later....Nada! Lol

in reply to Hartleyhare2

Well, in that case yes! She will sort you out. Wishing you the best!

Thank you! Anything that gives a bit of relief and is not a pill is worth it in my book! Hope your ok. X

I use these! I have Jobst and Futuro (brand names) knee-highs. The tightness these provide does a good job at calming my movements.

Do they work for me all the time? Unfortunately no. It depends on how strong the movements are.

Do I recommend them? Yes!!!

Yes my husband just bought CEF compression socks-$60.00 but worth it. Hand wash and hang dry or you will ruin them, we were told that at the store we bought them at. We got two pair one to wash one to wear. Got them at Scheel's. He wears them when he works at night. He loves them. I think Scheels has a European site also.

Thanks for posting this something I can try. Usually I get them in hospital but this time I'm having an op on my foot so I won't get them.

In the U.K. The store TK Max has them for £3 roughly $5. They looked better quality than the ones I have worn in hospital stays!

Why don't you use bandages? I use them. From the heels up, to halfway up the calves.
