My interests are, RLS and sleep apnea. I am retired and live with my wife in the TampaBay area of Florida. I have been a long time , sporadic CPAP user and have recently fully embraced CPAP therapy. Also have issues with RLS for which I have recently started treatment. Started with Horazant 600mg and Ropinirole 1 mg. Recent change from the ropinirole to Neupro 2 mg patches which seems to work fairly well. The problem with Neupro is that it is very expensive.

I am looking forward to learning about others experiences with these issues.

Hello and welcome. You are in the right place to learn about RLS. The search engine in the top left is a great place to start. Try reading a bit on gentle iron and augmentation to get you started.

Good luck.

Welcome to the group. I also have RLS and Sleep Apnea and use the Neupro patch x

Hello. In addition to RLS, I also had sleep apnea and have PLMD. I say "had sleep apnea" because, although I was diagnosed with it in 2011 and had success with the CPAP for a few years, the machine quit working for me. This was my indication that PLMD (which I got the diagnosis of at the same time as the OSA) had taken over. I was on Horizant for a month and am currently on the neuro patch.

Anyway...just saying hi.

Take care,

Welcome. As Raffs says, spend a bit of time reading about meds and augmentation on this site. Sorry that you have to worry about the cost of the Neupro patch over there in the US. Here in UK all our meds are free BUT there have been some local problems with doctors refusing to prescribe it due to expense ( which is not supposed to happen).

Hope you find the site helpful.

Thank you for the welcome. I plan to spend time reading allI can find on this site that is related to RLS,OSA and medications and treatment.

I have had chronic RLS since childhood and I am now 64. I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea and used the CRAP machine for about 3 years. However, I found it to be incredibly restrictive and as it made no difference to my quality of life whatsoever, so I turfed it.

The medications that I take and find to be 100% successful are Madopar (controls the pain) and Siffrol (controls the symptoms).

Please keep in mind that not all medications have the same outcome for everyone.

FYI .... Siffrol is the Australian version of Ropinirole.
