I too have experienced hair loss on gabapentin. I've been taking for about 6 1/2 months and it just the last 3 weeks that it started coming out faster than average. But in that length of time I bet I've lost 1/4 or 1/3 of my hair....hit me hard and fast. When I went to take my medicine tonight it just dawned on me that it could be the cause. I've been taking it after reconstructive surgery on foot and calf. I don't see the doctor for a few weeks, so I'm going to do without for a week and see how the pain is. I'm getting some of the folic acid and hope for the best. Thank you for the advice on the folic acid.

hair loss on gabapentin
I am so sorry for you! And to hear that. I read about it here when trying to get more info on gabapentin, as I have just started on it. I guess you, and probably eventually I also, just have to choose between two evils 😏. Meanwhile, I do hope the gabapentin works well for you.
Maybe you should slowly redice the dose rather than stop taling it abruptly. The latter (stopping abruptly) seems ill-advised, but other will know more or have experience.
I'm now on pregabalin and that is also causing hair loss. I posted about gabapentin causing my hair to fall out about 8 months ago.
It is listed as a rare side effect but I've ha at least 20 people from other forums report the same thing.
The pregabalin helps my RLS and lets me sleep so if I have to lose my hair , bring it on. I'd rather be bald than have the constant creepy crawly jumpy legs.
Hair loss and weight gain. I'll be bald and fat but my legs won't hurt
