I began taking tramadol 50 mg but I am experiencing quite acute anxiety. Will this stop if I continue taking the stuff? It's the opposite of what I had hoped for!

Anxiety with Tramadol?
I had exactly the same side effect with oxycontin. Dr Buchfuhrer says it is more common with opioids ( They are depressants) and suggested adding pregabalin which helps RLS and also has a sedating effect to counteract the anxiety. It worked and the 2 meds together are at the moment controlling my RLS 90% of the time and I haven't suffered a panic attack or anxiety since starting the pregabalin.
I've also just noticed you are going through severe augmentation and slow withdrawal from pramipexole and you are already on gabapentin.
I suspect your severe anxiety is linked to the withdrawal from the prami.
Withdrawal for me was very traumatic and I had lots of panic attacks and anxiety during a 2 month period while coming off dopamine agonists. It calmed down once I was through withdrawal and then started up again as soon as I started oxycontin.
Maybe try ask your GP for a small dose of diazepam just for while you are going through the withdrawal stage as that would reduce the anxiety. Discuss it with your GP to see if they have any suggestions.
Sadly, there is no easy way to get off pramipexole...
I had terrible itching with tramodol but that is all and that's gone now. Stick it out they will help
Hi I started taking tramadol because I had a shoulder operation and found it helped me sleep, and also calmed the sensations I have, the strange thing was, when I took it at night after About an hour the sensations would come on really bad, then would die off and I usually slept, but after About 8 months the sensations like rls at night all over my body came on more and more and stayed with me never letting up, so I decided to come off of it, which was horrendous took about a month of feeling really ill and I had the rls symptoms even worse. I am on no meds now and find the rls worse than ever...I have tried tramadol since and it didn't do anything as the rls is very bad anyway, and it never did anything for the sleep
