Does anybody know if I can take co-codamol with 25mg pregabalin if so how much? I have been advised to reduce the neupro patch. I am now on 1mg from 3mg but suffering badly with rls especially at night. The pregabalin doesnt seem to make any difference.

That will be over the counter strength which to be honest is very low and is unlikely to be of much help especially whilst weaning down from a dopamine agonists. Couldyou get your GP to prescribe you prescription strength ? Your Pregablin dose is very low too (to give you a comparison I take 225 mg daily ) so maybe your GP could increase that a little too.
Can I ask why you are reducing your Neupro? Do you intend coming off it altogether or sticking at 1mg?

I have been asked to come off it slowly altogether by Prof C at Kings College as you know it is a dopamine agonist and I have been on it for seven years. I am hoping when I am off the patch I might be better, I have only been on pregabalin for a few days
Yes I have a GP apt in a few weeks but in the meantime I think I will up my pregabalin dose, I knew it was a very small dose. Does it work for you?
No unfortunately Pregablin ( or Gabapentin ) don't help with my RLS at all not one little bit! I take Pregablin for pain (recovering from spinal surgery ).
I have the Neupro patch for my RLS 1mg. Been on 1mg for about 4 years now. It works 95 % of the time. I am also on a very tiny dose of Zomorph for my back. X

Yesterday I took one pregabalin in the morning and one in the evening with two co-codamol (16mg) and had EIGHT hours sleep (never been heard of) I hope I have found the answer or was it just complete exhaustion!
I am going to remain positive and look forward to another nights sleep.

According to the addiction experts, the 8mg of Codeine in the OTC Co-Codamol is not strong enough to kill pain but it is strong enough to leave people addicted. I've met people who were taking 30/50 effervescent co-codamol meaning they were taking 6 times the max dose of Paracetamol! How they didn't poison themselves is beyond me especially when others have died taking 8 of them in a relatively short space.
Mind you I used to find 2 co-codamols and a 400mg Ibuprofen were a great painkilling team!
You can take up to the max dose as prescribed or on the label.
HOWEVER:
That is only if the Pregablin isn't leaving you sedated because a lot of codeine might do this too. The two drugs will not interact so as said the top amount is fine that way but not if you are experiencing side-effects.
You have the 8/500 strength so imho unless you are particularly sensitive to codeine you SHOULD be able to take the full 8 tabs, (you could take more to get more codeine as you can take a much higher dose but the paracetamol could harm you pretty bad if not kill you!).
I add the same caveat as Pippins2:

I had gone to the top dose of Pregablin while taking the 30/500 Co-Codamol with no ill effects but we are all different

I am always very careful with medications as I work in a hospital environment.

Fingers crossed you get off it soon. I am getting geared up to try off mine too. Going to half the 2mg patch tonight and start from there.
The way I reduced from 3mg was to each day cut a very small amount off of the patch. I was then prescribed the 2mg which I then did the same. I have now been prescribed the 1mg and I am plucking up the courage to do the same again.
I should mention that Kings College do not recommend this as they say the medication may not be spread evenly across the patch.
I feel the medication IS evenly spread as when I was extremely fidgety I would check the patch and find a corner had come unstuck.
I should say I am not recommending this way of doing things its just what I did.
I am of course suffering withdrawel symptoms but I am going to battle through.

Thanks for the advice and support antelope99. I think you are approaching it in a very methodical and sensible manner and think I'll follow your example. If the drop from 2 to 1mg is too much I'll go 3/4 of the patch.
I'd imagine it is well enough spread over the patch and the Dr is hedging his bets.

First night was fine was quite chuffed next night not so good then terrible now back at 2 
I'll try again in a month or so. I'll not be beaten

I only cut the tiniest amount off each day, like a slither, it seems the best way.
