Hi Keiralee,

Not all drugs suit all people.

I have been on Pregabalin (Lyrica) for around 9 years and have had no ill effects.

Hi Keiralee,

I think with all drugs for RLS, the slower you can come off them , the better. Ask your GP for help and maybe a back up med to help while coming off, like diazepam in case of panic attacks/worsening of RLS. You will also need to discuss which meds you will tkae instead for the RLS.

Good luck,

Hi. I've come of either the top dose or near the top dose of it after being on it for 7/8 months very quickly. I normal stop dead even though as Joolsg says slower is better, ( I work on the assumption that the sooner its over the sooner I get it out of my system and on to a drug that works). Some drugs its definitely not advisable to do this with.

Depending on your dose and what way you take it cut down a little at a time if you can tolerate that drop the dose a bit more. It is important to take it slow but at the same time not so slow you never come off it. Discomfort is highly likely in all withdrawal and if you can see it as a temporary stage on the way to a better one its easier to tolerate.

Would be wise to consult with GP if you have any concerns as we don't know the ins and outs of your health and you may need an alternative drug for your RLS to replace the Lyrica, (I stopped Tramadol as I thought it was doing nothing only to realise after that it most certainly was helping).

Good luck and take care.

Hi, I've just seen a consultant in London who has advised me to start weaning off Pregablin. I take 100mg twice a day. He told me to decrease my dosage by 25mg at a time.

I'm hoping to avoid the withdrawal symptoms!

Good Luck
