I have taken miraplex and gabapentin with little success. I recently switched to ropinirole and now have face and hand tremors so I will be going through withdrawals from that as well. I have found the only thing that works on my RLS is marijuana or oxycodone both of which are highly addictive. It's a no win situation.
Hi Shelag,
I went through rebound /augmentation and withdrawal from ropinirole in 2016 and started on gabapentin. It took 3/4 weeks to take effect and worked well for 5 months giving me some respite from the jumpy legs.
Sadly, it seems to have stopped working for me so I am looking at next steps. It carries on working longer for others, so it may be brilliant for you. Don't take magnesium within 3 hours of the gaba as it reduces the effect.
Take care,
jools
After GABA stopped working I used DA's until they stopped working. Got thro' a couple of years with some peace and some side effects but now settled on Tramadol. Apart from tendency to fall asleep when I relax am quite good. Good luck.
HI there and welcome! My list of meds is too long to list on here (!) but currently I am on Pramipexole and codeine and they are working pretty well. Am enjoying some good nights sleep after many many years of exhaustion, stress etc. I know the RLS is still with me, I get it at odd times during the day, but at least I am sleeping.... hope you find something new that will help you.
