Might be down to the position of it. I clean arm and put it on a bald part of my arms or sides, (not easy as I am a hairy monster) and I find my sides tend to itch and pull but they are fine on my arms. Find the tautest part of skin you have and try there maybe.

Thanks raffs I try to find different part of legs and arms ,I change at 9.00but just started to start scratching so lift the corners, hope you are doing ok x

Doing pretty good at the minute, an odd bad day but not many. The patches can be a bit of a pain sometimes but seem to be helping. I'm too manly to shave my legs so can't put the patches there but my arms do fine, (I have a wee rota going and put the new on on beside the old one before removing it which allows me two weeks on my arms), with the odd placement on my sides.

Hope you are getting on well and have a better year this year than last.

Hi raffs just a question due to be of Ropinirole in 3 weeks, I was thinking of patch but due to go away in March? I will be doing a lot of swimming, snorkeling and sun bathing so which is best place to put patch for that 2 weeks cheers shaft1952.

They say not to expose it to sun/heat as it may cause irritation. I know in the bath it can sting for a bit but that goes.

If I were you, I'd go for the inner aspect of the upper arm. Don't know how big your arms are but I have a couple of twigs and I could squeeze a fortnight of patches in there.

Have a great time away on holiday, like the idea of a couple of weeks snorkeling, mind you I live in Ireland so come summer there should be enough rain :)

Cheers raffs very diplomatic, I have nice bingo wings, so plenty of flesh to put it on, would you put it high up on inner side of arm, cheers shaft1952

in reply to Shaft1952

I have placed them high up, and across my chest and shoulders, (after shaving!!!) and on my less hairy sides.

By far the arms are best, especially the outer part but for me inner is very good too.

Careful on the 'wings' as I think they can be a bit more awkward on loose flesh.

I had such trouble with my skin reacting to the patch, but remember the effects were good, so may try again. Do you all find it helps with sleep?

Can I just say when you take patch off I put a bit of cream on the mark it soon goes,I am on patch and 100mg a day Tramodol it's going good try again

in reply to funnyfennel

Yeah, I find that between that and the Targinact things are a hell of a lot better. No side-effects that I can tell but had them with Mirapexin. The patch is a far better drug in my experience.

Spray a couple of squirts of Flonase steroid nasal spray on the skin, leave to dry for 10 minutes then apply the patch, it stops the itching and reduces the redness

Pipps x

Thanks Pipps will give it a try x

in reply to Pippins2

Wow Pips, you really have some useful knowledge !!

Periodically I have to have dressings applied for a reoccurring leg (ulcer) and always have itching from the sticky tape. I've tried other stuff, creams etc but then the tape won't stick to my skin :(

This spray sounds brilliant, I shall give it a try, thank you again for your much valued help :)

Hi Beady Expect you will have thought of this but I always put the patches on a tough area of skin above my knees and it doesn't cause irritation

Hi Beady, I too get terrible itching and markings from the patch. My doctor prescribes Hydrocortisone 1% which is O.K but I prefer Sudocrem which is used for nappy rash and which I buy from the chemist very cheaply.

Good Luck
