The only safe anti histamines are Allegra and claritin so think you should be ok as fexofenadine is allegra.

There is a list of ALL drugs to avoid on the RLS-UK Foundation web site, and also on rlshelp.org Diphenhydramine is the ingredient to look for in night time cold meds, allergy meds, like Benedryl, and so on. The list of drugs to avoid is pretty universal, and is a good thing to know, lots more besides the allergy meds. Always good to be aware of this, that many over the counter meds can be horrid, as well as many prescription meds for other conditions.

Hi daisyw I have been on antihistamines for many years, I was on fexafenadine, but now back on cetirazine hydrocortisone but only 10mgs and it dosen't seem to bad. But fexafenadine had more side effects for me.it also depends why you are on them. As some antihistamines are choosen for a specific reason. Good luck hope this helps

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have emphysema and am surrounded by trees, grasses and flowers for a lot of the year. ATM I am trying to increase my iron levels to help my RLS which is driving me potty at the moment (I'm not anaemic * I just don't store iron) We all have our cross to bear :)

If you are going to give iron a go it seems that the greatest amount of success comes from taking chelated iron aka as Gentle Iron or Ferrous bisglycinate. It must be taken on an empty stomach before bed and not at the same time as other supplements (except maybe vitamin c) or medicines. Be well.
