Cross posting from this group to other web sites or FB pages

Just going to repeat what was an issue before in this group and others on the internet. it is NEVER ok, and is against the RULES to copy and paste any message from any support group to another without permission. A post from this group is showing up on a current member's FB page, and for no good reason, and the reputation of the "cross poster" has been discussed many times in this group.

My dear Erona4, excuse me but what the HECK? I did tell you I get that book 2 YEARS ago. Go look at your private messages if you save them, we have had MANY discussions about that German idiot Hubner and his book, and his salts. He NEVER had RLS, the salts were a load of crap, and we got him booted off this group for ONE thing. I will blame sleep deprivation on you not remembering, but we have literally spent days out of my life talking about that book. REALLY we have! LOL ;) And just to verify. Crossposting means copying messages from one group and posting it in another one. This person is still in this group, and he cross posted from the RLS-UK Facebook page to his own facebook page to further his own agenda, which is selling a book under a pseudonym. I did a lot of detective work on that one. BUT, you surely HAVE to remember all the msgs we had go back and forth. I have them all saved. ;)

Well? Erona34? Have you checked your messages? You KNOW I answered you at least 3 dozen times. Do not accuse me of not paying attention to you. You KNOW I did.

Your post reminds me of the stories I heard about bath salts from "Bed, Bath, and Beyond" nearly killing a bunch of people.**

**Disclaimer: It was actually only one story and I didn't pay any attention to it, so I don't know any of the real details... it might not have been "Bed, Bath, and Beyond"... or bath salts... or killing. There was definitely people in it, though.... maybe.

it was ACCURATE, trust me. It is a subject of much research in "Nightdancer" land.

I’m intrigued in the mention of bath salts. I’m new on here so obviously haven’t seen anything about it.

Because of my neuropathic foot pain, I regularly have foot baths with my own mixture of magnesium flakes ( or Epsom salts if I can’t afford magnesium), lavender & rock salt. It does relieve my foot pain, but now i’m Worrying whether it’ll be affecting the RLS

Can you clarify please? Thanks

I really hope this thread gets more replies, it seems ripe for drama and has the potential to be really entertaining. RLS is kind of depressing right now. This could be just the sort of diversion I need. All we need now is someone to either demand to know who the cross-poster is -or- defend their "right" to cross-post... then insert some good old fashioned back and forth bickering and we got ourselves a party!

Oh i hope not ookla, we have had enough drama on the forum the last few days. :)

Really?! Darn, I always miss everything good. Which posts do you recommend? Is it worth reading or just the same old "you guys are stupid for using drugs, all you need to do is tie a ball of yarn to your pinky toe and put an unfinished jigsaw puzzle under your bed!!!" nonsense?

LOL LOL. You have cheered me up, i have had a very bad day today, bad side effects from my meds, hayfever and i pulled a muscle and when i did get off the sofa i was limping round the house. Just scroll through the posts i am sure you will find the drama ones. If you can stomach them. :P Nite nite.. :)

yes, if you can stomach it, and I am done for now. Tomorrow is another day! Thank GOD!

in reply to

Elisse, you just made me laugh ( hard) sorry.. I pulled a muscle laughing. how did you pull a muscle getting off the sofa? Nevermind, you have been so busy working answering such oddball questions.. I've never in my life ever heard such odd questions anywhere and then well... then storms of the RLS on HU.. It must have been a nightmare that caused you to get up off that sofa like that. lol ( I am just splitting my obese 112 # gut laughing) omgosh... it hit my funny bone. It must be all the fun on the RLS stuff... Don't you pull any more muscles. XX

in reply to

Yikes, i havent a clue how i pulled that muscle, cause i was feeling so bad that day, i hardly moved off the sofa. Must have been some type of couch potato pulled muscle. lol Glad to oblige to make you laugh, oh dear hope your muscle doesnt hurt for tooo long. 112lbs of weight is NOT obese unless your are only 4ft nothing. I am that weight and i am 5ft 2". Not skinny but not obese by any means. :) x

I think that several people are going to think that the post was directed at them.. It really left a horrible taste in my mouth and it seemed mean in spirit. The person hasn't posted on for a very long time that I remember, erased all of the stuff on their profile and put out that article. I felt offended and I am far from obese. I had 2 letters in my home personal email asking about my weight today and a home post card asking me to join someone unknown for a condo for a couple weeks with them alone - at my home address mailed from FL and I know no one from there - not ever. It's been a weird 0 kind of day just today. Maybe if I step back and look at the article more I will feel less offended.. I believe that a very bitter Endo put that one out for us.. I will have to study it more. It has Endocrinologist written every which way on it for me.

Yikes! Yes 112 lbs is not obese unless you are hobbit! I am 5'3" and am about 4 lbs more than you and all my clothes are "falling off of me". LOLOL What article are you talking about?

I have HAD it with drama, and I will not name names, because that is against the rules, but SOMEONE needs to pay attention what is going on in this group, and also on their FB page for the Foundation. There has been LOTS of drama, and that is not what we need right now. ;) I have just about had it with lack of leadership/moderating on this group, and am not afraid to say it. Never mind that the un-named person is trashing the RLS-UK foundation on his web page, etc, etc. We can only defend so much, and then the leaders need to step in. We had the cross posting issue several times, and it is NOT allowed.

See? Now *this* is what I'm talking about. Great start! :)

in reply to ookla

OOkia, with all due respect to you because I do like you, Nightdancer is being very serious. She's at the end of her rope here. There's more to it than you know. I'm sorry to say that. I wish that others didn't have to witness the posts. They don't know exactly what it all means either. The group is not falling apart or closing down. We just need to either get more management involvement to solve this current or it might be very frustrating for some on here to witness this a bit longer.

I will check in tomorrow and see if you found the drama ones. :)

Hmmm, I have not seen any discussion on cross-posting within the HU site. Any way, why is it such a bad thing to cross-post?

in reply to Pete-1

What's said in this room stays in this room..

We had a member on here a while ago who was copying and posting members posts from here to her own open fb page to use for her own agenda. When people post on here they sometimes tell us things that maybe they do not want the whole world to read about. It took a long time for Rosie who was a Admin back then for this forum to get her to remove them from her fb page. Now we have another "member" who is doing the same. This someone doesnt even like the RLS-UK charity, but has the nerve to come on here and TAKE people's posts. The polite way would be ask the person whose post it is for permission first, dont you think..

You are never to cross post with the person's name and spread it all over FACEBOOK. It was a huge issue 2 years ago., it is also against the rules in most support groups here and everywhere.

It's a terrible thing to cross post. It's the worst position to be in when you are on more than one forum trying to set straight facts about RLS - overtime you get smarter and find better ways to word things and then someone goes and pulls out something that you might have said in early days when you didn't quite know everything and your head gets put on the chopping block so that's why I don't like it and it's a closed group which means What is said in this room stays in this room so we can't be taking it out and showing it to anyone else.
