Hi I was on rapinole and it didn't agree with me at all. Im now on premixiole (cant Spell) and they work fine, she says at at the computer legs dancing...... hahahaha. Ive been on my feet most of today which actually triggers it. How long have you had restless legs for? my earliest recollection of it was when I was 7 years old.

hi ser03 tried premipexole didn't agree with me I have tried literary everything that's going but nothing seems to work anymore

in reply to connie50

Connie, if the Ropinerole has stopped working, then you know its probably because of augmentation, and the oxycodone will not work while you are having augmentation. You know you will have to get off the Ropinerole and find something else.

in reply to

I found a new drug for you Connie, read down below..

Connie, probably augmentation from the slow release Ropinerole.

think I will try some tramadol + oxycodone

in reply to connie50

Connie, i hope you didnt go cold turkey without taking a back up pain med to help you. You need to take a strong pain med when stopping the Ropinerole, it still wont be easy and you will still have bad nights. But its the only way to do it. Dont keep just taking this and that as your other post has just said. Tramadol and the oxy. We take strong meds and you cant just take this or that on the hope it will work. You could end up over dosing.

I have been on the extended release ropinirole for a couple of years. I take 2mg in the evenining and "top it up" with 0.5mg of the normal stuff around lunchtime. This works 80% of the time, but occasionally I have very bad episodes for a week or so. This happened around Christmas and was then followed quite suddenly by a couple of months when everything was so good I almost thought I had been cured! (Ha ha). I am in the middle of another bad episode now. Changing the brand of the slow release also seemed to help. I have tried 3 different ones - Ralnea, Aimpart, and Ropiqual. Alternating a week of Ralnea and Aimpart seems best so far. Have a word with your pharmacist. I know it isn't supposed to make any difference, but the night before last I had no sleep; I then swapped to Ralnea, and last night was pretty good.

One the other hand, this could all be coincidental as the demon is pretty resourceful and cunning, but it is maybe worth a try.

thanks Altair I did this a few weeks ago with ordinary repinarole because I cannot take requip so they put me on ADARTREL it worked for a while then after a week or so my legs stated up again (I honestly think its all in the mind) but I no swapping & changing meds do help I've tried this several times.the slow release repinarole the GP as given me now, is called SPIROCO XL 2MG I was taking RALNEA XL but I no I have augmentation now so I no I have to have a break from repinarol to get shut of the augmentation this is going to be a killer but I have to try & do something because my legs will not keep still (mainly in the evenings) don't bother during the day at all.

Oxycodone is a really strong pain pill. it's up there with morphine.

Connie, I am doubting that doctor will give you more than 5mg.

Do you take more than 1 tablet for RLS a night or day? Usually only

one or two pills per every 24 hours is given..bummer, right?

If i remember right, you tried Gabbapentin? There is another one

that is kind of new to the treatment of RLS. - it is

treating a lot of conditions like Neuropathy and you guessed it, RLS..

and the drug produces weight loss as well...it's called topamax...

and it's a drug that has been around for some time. IT was one of

the drugs in the popular phen - fen that was used in the 90s.

Alone it's a safe drug but the two drugs together that caused super

weight loss caused some heart valve damage so the combination

pills were pulled from the market. I do not know anyone personally

that takes the drug Topamax for Restless Leg Syndrome but

there are at least some people on the site that say that it works for

Restless leg syndrome. That might be a drug to try for someone..

maybe you? I am pointing you in the direction of relief from RLS and

not for weight loss..I don't know your size or anything about you other

than you have a pretty face Connie. Good luck in your choices. Karen

hi yikes2 I've done what I should have done weeks ago & gone cold turkey its very very hard but I've taken that much medication I have augmentation & I no that the only thing left for me to do is to stop all dopamine drugs, the only thing im taking now is tramadol an anti-histamine to stop me from itching.

Connie means she has stopped the Ropinerole, but is using the Tramadol to help with the withdrawals. :)
