Hi jumpey..from what I understand a normal dose of magnesium is 350 mg per day. To help rls we need to increase it to 300-1000 mg per day . Calcium should be half the dose. So 150 -500. One should only use mag. Glycinate or chelated mag. It is better absorbed than other forms. Start off low and increase slowly splitting the daily dose to take am and pm. Please do some research before you start as there can be side effects. It's also used as a laxative!!!!! So don't do it if you already take them. Also it can impair your kidneys if you have any kidney problems. Do research and ask your doctor first!
There are medical tests that confirm the vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Sometimes I wonder why the tests are not being utilized more often by
doctors. They wait until strong physical symptoms present themselves
before they look for deficiencies.
I know here in the UK it's probably cost!
