Is eosinophilic asthma mostly severe?
I think it is a type of eosinophilic

I have as I have to keep taking high dose nasal steroids and my blood eosinophil count is always 0.6 x 10/L

Wool Blend Jumpers
I had a nasty day long asthma flare today, which is unusual at this time. In winter I normally have daily short, sharp attacks, very unpleasant but responsive to salamol. This attack unusually took an hour coming on, so we did all the normal things, air purifiers on, clear the bins etc. Then it was

Asthma flare up!?
After recovering from chest infection , asthma flare up and asthma attacks. I still have a productive cough and have to sleep sitting up. My peak flow hasn't recovered yet and is 400/500. My asthma woke me up last night and my peak flow was 380/500. After 4 puffs of my salamol I was able to go back to

I do t know if I'm just hyper aware now or what..I know I've had this issue prior to be diagnosed and my pcp just said it was due to vasomotor

Parkrun might have to wait
I was intending to do my first ever parkrun tomorrow but having survived Ciaran yesterday, the sun was shining and it was fairly calm. Forecast tomorrow not so good- ah the dilemma, go out this morning or do some S&F and do parkrun tomorrow? Readers, the lure of a lovely sunny morning run was too great

Last year my chemist gave me salamol instead of salbutamol, I took nearly all of the inhaler as it dident help me at all, so my doctor told my chemist I needed salbutamol, but the chemist is saying it's exactly the same, I don't find this at all, iv just looked it up and the salamol is a lot cheaper

Yankee candles?
Hi, my partner and I sometimes use unscented candles which I’m fine with, but we was wondering about the scented Yankee ones do you think it will be ok? And does anyone else use them? . I know things like perfumes, washing powder and deodorant sprays set my asthma off but was wondering if Yankee candles

Rhinitis Medicamentosa/A.F./Hip Replacement
Hi, I am about to have a consultation assessment for a hip replacement and having already posted about my concern with having to stop my Flecainide (150mg x 2) pre-op and being scared of going into A.F. prior or during the op. -my other big problem is having used Otrivine type nasal decongestant sprays

Blood pressure medications and non-allergic rhinitis
Turns out, vasodilators dilate the tiny capillaries in your nose and can cause non-allergic
rhinitis
. Doesn’t sound like too much to put up with, but my nose has gotten so out of sorts that there are sore patches inside and I think it could easily get infected because the skin is so delicate now.

High platelet count
I also have Allergic
Rhinitis
. Recently had severe pain in upper tummy, 2 days later developed shingles which has cleared up. GP wanted to do blood tests and results are elevated platelet count, have heard that there is a link between this and IBS along with
Rhinitis
causing elevation.

Salamol
At the instigation of my GP practice I have been moved from salbutamol ( usually supplied as trade named Ventolin)reliever to salamol on the grounds that it is cfc free, it states it on the box. I thought all aerosols were cfc free since about the 1990’s when the hole in the ozone layer was discovered

Ventolin versus Salamol reliever inhalers
I’ve read a number of comments on this site concerning the move from Ventolin to Salamol inhalers. People are concerned that the Salamol inhaler is much weaker, therefore needing more puffs than the ventolin equivalent and I have also read about the bad taste of Salamol inhalers. It seems that Salamol

i know this is going to sound weird but…….
Ever since I had the DBS I’ve had
rhinitis
, itchy eyes, itchy skin. I assumed that I needed to hoover up etc, get my dogs bedding changed etc. I’ve done all of these but I’m still symptomatic. I thought to myself the other day: this started pretty soon after the DBS.
