i was just diagnose with raynauds i leave in panama i injure my index finfer and now they are goint to ampute it hurt sooo bad my other hand is also sweling badley how does peaple manage pain? they also give me some blood presure meds. this is only second case this hospital have,but i have been in pain since novenver..

Hi Rubi, we all bear with the pain differently. Sorry to hear that your index finger is going to be amputated. I have Raynaud's which is more severe in my feet, I've actually asked for both feet to be amputated as the pain is unbearable. I have tried high blood pressure meds, which made it worse, codeine phosphate - which did nothing, ametriptyline which did nothing, and now back to paracetomol. Early January - I did go over the guidelines of a max 8 pills, but couldn't cope with the pain.

Your hospital does not have much experience of Raynaud's, or do they? Is your finger black? It seems to me that you need treatment for your Raynaud's before it gets much worse. Do you get nifedipine? Do you get Iloprost? What do you get to dilate your blood vessels? How do you keep warm? Sorry to ask so many questions. Good luck.

Hi Rubi. Sorry to hear of your pain and distress with Raynaud's. You say you have been given medicine for blood pressure. I hope it helps and pray you will not need the finger amputated.

I can't imagine the pain you're feeling. I am not nearly as bad but my heart goes out to you.

Why not tell your doctor about this organisation (RSA) and ask him/her to do some research and get some advice on your behalf. There's much to be learnt here so keep visiting us and keep us posted.

hi been a littel scare wed they are amputating my index finfer on left hand like i said im in panama after reading all your blogs i really wonder if this hospital know what they are douin. my cousan is in usa pensylvania soo she send me electric blanquet,ginko ,,ginger tee, fish oil ,also currently takin tramadol for pain they say they dont have nefidepin here but they give me somemthing on the same family. but anyway my righ hand also has a couple of finger sewling iim just new at this ......tryn to be warm
