Do you have Raynaud's? What do you mean by chillblains? are they not Raynaud's ulcers? Nifedipine helps me a lot. If you have Raynaud's they don't heal by themselves. I have antibiotics when I have ulcers.

hi zenabb, my doc told me i do have raynauds, i have only just been dianoised and the doctor says the cuts on my finger tips are chillblaines and gave me the cream, i also have been given nifedipine 10mg, i have it only in my hands the go white...pink..red..blue..purple and are really painfull and itchy...the doctor says the cuts are not ulcers....thanks for your reply..xx

chillblaines are where you have very bad sores on your fingers its a bit like you have no skin on them....you get it when your hands go cold and then warm up they are very painfull xx

Be vigilant. They may be infections or get infected, due to break in skin. I nearly lost a finger with an abscess. My GP just gave me antibiotics, but I ended up walking to hospital at night in the pouring rain to get treatment. A Casualty surgeon operated on the abscess and saved my finger and I was given further antibiotics.

try balmosa cream from any chemists or chilblain cream from boots- DO NOT GET IT IN YOUR EYES as it stings.

Have you tried Balmosa cream as mentioned above? Seems to help some people as long as the chilblains are not broken. Available from pharmacies or on prescription but cheaper to buy unless you are exempt from prescription charges.

Hope they get better soon.
