ACE inhibitors

Hi - the Amlodipine aren't agreeing with me; been suggested that I try ACE inhibitors. Anyone give me any feedback if they are on them please?

I have encountered problems with various drugs in the past. Something that has sometimes made a difference is taking the drug at a different time of day.

It all depends on what side effect you are having to cope with

At the end of the day though, if the drug is really not helping and is causing greater problems then its worth discussing further with your medical team

I was put on the ACE inhibitor drug "Ramipril" for my Raynauds after encountering problems with various other drugs beforehand. The leaflet suggested that this should be taken in the morning but this caused a few side effects that I didn't like so I changed the time of taking and now take it at 6pm when I have my evening meal and I am fine. I have been on this for about 4 years now with no problems. I hope this helps.

I can't take either Ramipril or Amlodipine, but do absolutely fine with Nifedepine for my Raynauds. I'm not sure it it's the same family, but I also take Candesarten for my blood pressure.

I take Ramipril which is an ACE inhibitor. I was started on them when protein was found in my urine a year or so ago and my test results come back clear now. I've not suffered from any side effects. I have diffuse scleroderma and also take nifidepine, mycophenolate mofetil and low dose aspirin. Thus far they're doing the trick!

As the answers above show we all react differently and have to try many medications before finding one that really helps. It is important to give each prescribed medication a reasonable time before giving up, as often side effects can disappear with time.
