Blood and protein in urine

Hi - just found out that the urine sample that the Rheumatologist recently asked for contained blood and protein and has been sent away for analysis. Bit worried now. Any advise please?

You sound concerned. But be positive. You have been made aware so hopefully all the necessary steps are being taken.

Sometimes it is a watch and wait scenario, depending on the severity of the result.

Try not to let it upset your Christmas. If it required urgent attention you would have been called to hospital. Test results can fluctuate anyway.

I had that three weeks ago and I got a letter from the gp and a prescription for antibiotics. All clear now, Merry Christmas.

Wait until you get the results and try not to worry unnecessarily - easier said then done but it is easy to imagine all sorts of things which may never materialise. Good luck!
