I have had swollen nail folds and wrinkling of fingers. I was diagnosed with mild raynauds. Could this be early symptom of scleroderma?

Also on some fingers right below the nail beds are swollen a bit and white. Palms are wrinkly as well and skin is drier than normal.

HI,

I have Systemic Scleroderma and have had for nearly 60 years. I was not diagnosed until 2003 and one of the first comments the Doctor made was that my fingers from second to third joints were tight and shiny and that is a symptom which is significant. It seems that these days that symptom plus ANA and ENA blood results are a sign of Sclero.

It would be a good idea to ask for a referral to a Sclero expert to put your mind at rest.

Ask your GP to be referred to a rheumatologist.

Rheumy no help. Going to dermo. Just realized the finger I was most concerned about has a small blister type thing right where the knife/fork hit. Duh maybe that's why it seems swollen!

I'm not sure, my fingers at the time word stiff and shiny. Every few months I get ulcers at the corner of my fingernails. This still happens, just not as often. the cardiologist I saw the other day said he could tell by my face I have scleroderma. I have never heard that one before.

One of the many facets of Scleroderma is tightening of the skin. Obviously when this affects your face it is very noticable. In the same boat.

Hi I have p.b.c and scleroderma and my p.b.c consultant on my last visit said to me I think you have scleroderma because I can see it on your face. I had blood tests done and yes he was correct it come back strongly positive and confirmed I did have scleroderma. I see a consultant for this on 30th September !! carnt say im looking forward to it as I have just got used to having 1 autoimmune desease but apparently with p.b.c scleroderma can go hand in hand.
