Try asking for a steroid injection in your knee. I have just had these done, and it as helped enormously

I agree with Inkedup. I have had steroid injections in my knees as well when the pain has become unbearable. The relief is amazing. Go and see your GP tomorrow. Hope you get some relief soon.

hi buryboy - I really feel for you !

Have you taken advice from your local citizens advice bureau or been on the directgov website, as it maybe that when you get some info about what choices are available to you, you may feel a bit better. For example they may be able to advise you in the instance if you take some time off work to get better, you may get some financial assistance.

You know that stress will make all of your symptoms worse, so give yourself a break with the worrying and know that all will be ok :) x

Hi buryboy. Long time! Sorry to know things are not as well as should be. It's tough to do your job when you are so unwell. It's scary when you think of the financial side of things if you are unable to work. I had a similar experience, worked until I literally crawled out of my workplace one night in Feb 2004 (nearly 50 years old) and have not been able to return to any kind of work since. I had no choice but to give up working, my health problems dictated my fiture for me. I cried bitter tears at the time as it was not my choice to leave a job I had been doing since I was eighteen years old. I was not prepared for it and couldn't beleive I had become so ill. How will I pay my mortgage, my bills etc? I felt desperate especially as I was alone but you know what? I managed, help was available though it took a while to access it and here I am, coping and still alone. I don't have a lot of money but I am managing. I have great friends and family. I am saying this to say, take your doctor's advice and let him sign you off sick at least for a while to rest and recouperate and see if things improve. You can't continue to work as you are. If you are not entitled to sick pay from your employer then take the sick note to your nearest Jobcentre Plus and take it from there. Anything you are unsure of, ask them or contact the Citizen's Advice Bureau. don't be afraid to ask for and accept help. I found the Jobcentre Plus Advisors to be very helpful, very kind and sympathetic. They will guide you through the claims process and your entitlements. Talk things over with your wife. She won't want you to suffer and I am sure she will continue love you and support you in this. You Must get your health sorted. The financial side of things will work out, beleive me. Just make sure everyone is kept informed of your situation, people do care. You'll be amazed how much.

Let us know how you're doing and you know know if we can help with any advice on this forum, we will. All the very best to you and your family.
