Enbrel and Weight Gain

I'm new here and have been on Enbrel and methotrexate for about 12 years now and I have been gaining weight since day one. Just wanted to know if anyone else has the same thing happening to them. I am so frustrated and really suspect it could be the Enbrel. The weight is all around my mid-section and wonder if anyone else is having this same problem?

I only take the Enbrel, not the metho. so it must be the metho. that made me so sick I was non-functional, so the doc took me off it.

I am only on the method and no weight gain but bad side effects. Tslkef Dr into reducing mg and have gone vegan and gluten free. He has suggested embrel. Would love to know your experience. ... Does it really help? Any fatigue like method? Thnx

I have been using Enbrel for several years. I a have had excellent results and am more mobile and have not had a flare in a very long time. I cannot tolerate methotrexate so I only take the Enbrel shot weekly. Good luck. I have not noticed the weight gain either.

Hi I'm sorry you're going through that, I recently read about how important of a role diet plays for all is suffering from RA. Cutting down on trigger foods might be great for your pain and the weight 😊. I've been on enbrel for almost 4 years now and it's encouraging to see someone who's been on it for 12 years. I often wondered about the long term side affects. Have you ever had any side effects since being on enbrel?
