I know how scared you are to take the mtx. I was too, now I consider it to be my best friend. You will too.

Everybody feels that way and if you spend too long on here looking you will see a few horror stories. I had a few bumpy days getting it up to the regular dose but it's ok now. Rember also that thousands of people accross the planet take it in pill or injection form with no issues.

Hope all goes well and take care Nik

The biggest issue is that I believe it causes upset tummies.. I don't know if lemon water or cayenne capsules would help in this case, or if there would be any interaction, but that is what I use with the Minocycline to prevent stomach upset...

Please don't be worried. There is some nausea and fatigue for me. Learning WHEN to take is important. I take it on Saturday nights to lessen the worst nausea time. The fatigue kicks in hard by early Sunday afternoon but I'm back to "my normal" by Monday. Good luck. 😊

Don't be worried. I agree with NayCoomer. I take mine on Saturday night before bed as well. But now that I've been on it for so many years I don't really have bad time with it anymore. Once it gets in your system at the right dose you get lessened side effects in my experience. Good luck! 😊

I am going for my bloodwork Monday. I am on plaquenil and now sulphasalazine as well as of last year. 7 years in. My x-rays showed alittle damage to my big toe. I too am worried about MTX, but I believe it is next for me. I've had an ache in my left hip, not sure. It's a constant, "Is it RA?" with every little ache and pain.
