Tobacco, has left the Building...

Morning to you all,

Well, that's the first 24 hours, and feeling quite okay really.

I just had to get tobacco, papers, Lighters etc out of the house/garage/Car. I've been scared to do that. (What if I wake up during the night and I desperately need a ciggie...)? However, I've given it all away now,

Strange though, I've been able to use Patches before without any problem. But this time, I'm itching like mad if I use them. Still, I have just about every other smoking aid there is - Sprays, Lozenges, Tablets, Inhalers, E Cigs, so if I feel it's getting bad I can use those.

I didn't actually decide on a quit day as such. I just wanted to get rid of the tobacco and stuff for some reason. I know that if it's near at hand, I'll be tempted to go for it. This way seems more final, (Scary, but final)! So, this is the 2nd day...

Stay safe and well everyone, Gill, xx

Well done gillyflower, I am sure you will succeed this time, you seem a lot more positive and doing it for you is the best thoughts that you can have. I have the cools lozenges which I found have been great, before I have used patches, inhalators and gum, none worked as well. I get mine through the no smoking clinic. Thinking of you, sending positive vibes and loads of support. I am on my xxxxx attempt (too many to count) but with the support of this site know this time I will succeed. Take care suecx

Hi Sue, I've not heard of the "Cools", could I buy them at a Chemist maybe? Anything that may help, I'll give it a try, thanks, Gill. xx

You can get them in any supermarket. They're expensive though. Something like £4.99 for a little dispenser with about 20 lozenges in. They're a bit like tic tacs. Because I'm on Champix and you're not supposed to use NRT of any kind and I said sometimes I just have to, my smoking adviser gave me a couple of placebo Cools. They were as good as the real ones, which to me doesn't say much for the real ones but each to their own. I use Nicotine lozenges from Aldi. £2.99 for 36 although I think only me buys them at our Aldi so they still have a good stock left over from January specials.
