Still stopped but new side effects

For some reason beating this seems to be taking me through a whole range of side effects.. first I had the issue with getting to sleep but that seems to have sorted itself out, I then had a horrific metallic taste in my mouth all of the time but a few days ago this seems to have gone and now I keep getting light headed. It was happening so frequently that I went to see the GP as I was worried but she seems to think that it is another symptom of stopping smoking and is not concerned.

Last night for the first time I seriously considered going and buying some baccy just to feel 'normal' again but then I remembered that how I have felt when smoking for the last 30yrs has not been 'normal' at all so I went to bed and cried myself to sleep instead.

Hey ho, another day and another victory to me. I have running club tonight so that will help loads and then tomorrow I am driving North to spend the weekend with my family so have lots of joy ahead.

Onwards and upwards!

Well done Tiggs! Don’t give in! I had all of those reasons and had that just 1 and it’s not a nice feeling! Keep going! And don’t look back! Too many good reasons to quit!

Congratulations xx

Hello Tiggs, what you have is brain fog, a very common side effect and as with the others will go in time. You can read up more on this symptom in the pinned posts.

Well done tiggs, another victory for you. Enjoy your running club and of course the trip to your family. Do the family know about the new tiggs? That's exciting in itself. XXX

Hi tiggs,

I had many symptoms and they came and went at different times. I thought it would never end! But it will, I promise! I too battled with the thought that if I just smoked a cigarette I’d feel normal again but you have to stay strong. I had a really good support system at home and I also posted on here and read through many comments by others to remind myself this all would pass. Stay strong! You can do it!

I had (and still have) many symptoms, too. But they do come and go as Amanda said. You can do this! Good for you for resisting the urge to buy the tobacco. You're doing great!
