Hi Anna, good days bad days and everything in between can be a roller coaster of emotions☹️ Hang in there your first week is nearly done and that’s great👍

Take some time out for a few breaths of fresh air. Lots of slow deep breathing helps get rid of those cravings and has a nice calming effect. Weekends can be tough in the beginning but things will get better🌻xx

Welcome and congratulations on one week tomorrow 👏👏👏

I used smoking as a coping mechanism as well . It’s a powerful addiction. What I do is watch videos on what smoking does to the body and it scares me and keeps me from lighting up. I have one friend who smokes in her house so I find that I still can’t visit her at her home because the place stinks and when I left there last year once , I just reeked of cigarette smoke It was sticking to my hair and clothes . I don’t want any triggers around me still.

All the best with your quit xx

Stay strong my dear. Not only would it not help, smoking would actually make the situation worse, because you do that instead of sorting it. But you can take a break, just as you would have when smoking. Excuse yourself, find a quiet space, close your eyes and take 10 deep breaths in and out through the nose. Then, just sit for a minute. This really works!

I was so close to breaking my resolve yesterday too - I'm struggling as smoking has been my coping mechanism too. We need to cope in new ways- they must exist!
