I have been trying to quit using nicoderm patches and am having a lot of problems so I got an e cig for emergencies all I am trying to find out is If it is safe using both at the same time? I wouldn’t use both if the ecig has nicotine in it. Not sure if it does?? Because you will increase your nicotine level . Have you tried vaping. I don’t have very good advice as I have not used those products but there will be someone online soon to help🌷

Way to go for quitting!!!!!

I tried vaping and hated it but if that will help I'm willing to try I am going to the grocery this weekend to get munchies as well. I don't know why I feel this will be so hard cuz in the past I've quit heroin, cocaine, crack and alcohol and that was hard but this just feels daunting

You can do this. They say cigarettes are harder to quit than heroin because we are always lighting up all day. Try vaping . Hang in there 💐

Welcome Mary, and thank you for joining us. First of all may I recommend you have a look at the pinned posts, depending on which device you are using.

many questions can be answered there, also lots of tips etc.

The pinned posts can be found at the right of this page or the bottom of the page, depending on which device you are using.

You will probably get some more responses from other members.

Some of our members use patches and have a low nicotine % e.cig for emergencies or back up.

If you feel you are overdosing with both then obviously stick to just one.

We look forward to supporting you with your quit journey.

Please let me know your exact quit date and then I will add your name to our database and assign you your badge. :) xx

Hi again Mary, I have just been researching about patches and E.cig. I found an american site which was a bit scientific and after reading through numerous pages, they had done some trials with the patches and E.cigs. To cut a long story short you can use both the patch and E.cig.

They also had a good outcome. :) xx

Hi Mary

Yes, you can use both, similar to using the mist or gum while wearing a patch. Try keeping the Nic strength lowish..... 6mg or less if you can, then reduce it over time.

I was using both but have stopped the patch now and I’m carrying on with just the vape.... 0 Nic.

Good luck

Mary, congrats on your decision to quit smoking. I never used the ecig but did use mild patches and lozenges and was fine. Good luck!
