Hi!

I replaced smoking with vaping 3 and a half years agor and three days ago I quit my e-cig for good.

It's been surpringly easy in someways, specially with the cravings, but incredibly hard with controling of the emotions and the sleep.

I've prided myself in being a very good sleeper and now I spend my nights waking up every hour and waking up super early.

How long in average does it normal take to get our sleep mode back to normal?

Wow! No smoking for 31/2 yrs.... 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Now cold turkey from nicotine... Hmmmm..... You might need to gradually taper .... I don't know.... I went cold turkey as well and had sudden waking in the night, headaches, nausea, sweats, aching back and bad aching teeth..... All that lasted a month and then it was the habit I had to deal with.... Best wishes from 🇨🇦❤️👍🏻

Hi Madzoya, Everybody is different when they quit. I know it took me about 3 weeks when I first quit to get my sleeping habits back to normal. I dont think it should take too long. Good luck with your quit.

Let us know your exact quit date and then we can add you to our wall of winners.

please keep us posted. xx

Hi madzoya, when did you quit cigarettes coz that's when your badge starts from 😊 We don't care how you give up smoking so long as your not inhaling 4000+ toxins 😊

Oh! I only counted that one as half a quit. lol. It was in January 2013, don't know the exact date. In my head only now, that there is no nicotine envolved I'm really quitting.

We all use something different to quit... Vaping is no different to using patches, spray, gum, mints or an inhalator 😊 You've been quit for 3 years and 4 months 😊👍👍🚭🚭🚭🚭

Hi Madzoya and welcome to quit support😊

Great achievement, well done🚭👍🏼

the first few weeks are the worst but it will pass, so hang in there.

Have you tried camomile tea before bed? Might help🤔

I think it's just our bodies trying to adjust as many members have suffered with this☹️

It will all be worth it so good luck and shout if ya need anything😊

We say NOPE not one puff ever🚭

Hello Madzoya, Well done on your quit! I too had problems with sleep, wide awake for hours in the night, it only last about 4/5 days for me, now sleeping normally again. it will get better, your doing great!

Hi madzoya, can I ask how you finally came off the ecig? Did you gradually cut down on the nicotine or just decide you had had enough and stop?

I'm at almost five months, and down to 0% nicotine. Looking at ways other people have done it before I decide what I'm going to do.

Sorry, I sleep like a log so can't help with that matter. 🙂

Hi Nozmo,

I reduced until 6% nicotine over the years. But I won't say this was a very structered quit. I just decided last time I wouldn't buy more liquid. I don't have it where I live, so I need to order it online and it takes up to 2 weeks to arrive, so no liquid no vaping.

When my last bottle ended I was done (hopefully for good). Packed all my stuff in a box and that was that!

Four days have gone by and I feel free. Free not to have to remember to bring the cigar + liquid + battery charger. Free not to have to think if I have liquid to reach til the next batch comes. Free not to have to charge my devices. Free not to have to make pauses to vape. Free to have both my hands free!

I just hope the feeling lasts!

Sounds like you have or cracked Madzoya

I hope to be the same in the near future...nicotine free now so it's just the hand to mouth thing to overcome.

Thanks for the reply!

I read lots of stories like this at a vaping forum ( vapingforums.com/ ), many people successfully gave up smoking due to e-cigs. Now I am supporting my younger brother in his decision to quit, it is 2 weeks already since he is nicotine free. I just read that according to the latest studies, people gotta vape every day to give up smoking. Two new research papers suggest e-cigarettes may help smokers trying to kick the habit, but only if they are used every day, instead of infrequently. It may also be more beneficial to use the versions with refillable “tanks”, which could deliver a higher dose of nicotine.
