I've quit for 10 weeks now and tbh it's not been too bad for me but since y'day I just want the one drag to make me feel better or I need to find another way to help with stress... Before when I was stressed I just used to smoke God knows what I am gonna do

Aup Ryan, just look at you, 10 weeks Winner already pal, try to stay strong and remember the WHY's you wanted to quit in the first place :) :)

Have you tried the breathing exercises in the Pinned Posts ??  or what about getting a inhalator and just having a couple of puffs of that now and again :)

I think being stressed is one of the hardest times for us, the way I dealt with it was to jump onto my rower and give it hellllllllllll :o and that helped to get it out of my system :)

Your doing ever soooooo well Ryan, please dont light up, try to find a way around it :)  Good luck :)

Ryan 10 weeks quit is fantastic 😊

Please please please don't have a smoke.... It will NOT relieve your stress only add to it!

You have come so far do you really want to start at the beginning again? I honestly don't think that you do

What is causing your stress? Is it work? Money? Home? Or just general all round stress? Take yourself off for a walk, go to the gym, prepare yourself a nice dinner or other treat.... Punch a pillow, do whatever it takes not to light up coz your stronger than your craving 😊💪🏿

For me it was the thought of coming on here and having to tell people that I had given in..... It's what kept me sane 😊

Good luck Ryan and keep it up, your almost at the 3 month mark 😊🚭🚭🚭🚭🚭🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Great advice from Monky and Droopy 👍

I think there comes a point when we quit that makes us feel a bit low. The excitement of quitting has worn off a bit and we think back to when we smoked and wrongly perceive how it made things more bearable.

Is there someone to talk to that knows your situation? Can you face the problem ? Is there something you or others can do to fix it or make it better?

I know it is very difficult when stress hits you but try and find a positive and continuing with your quit is one 👍

Be positive 😀

Xx

Awe Ryan... Sorry you're feeling like lighting up.  I get those urges when I'm down. I think , what's the use and then I remind myself of my fear of being disabled by COPD or stroke... I'm terrified of what cigarettes can do to us.  Monky, droopyj and shanti have great advice.... Listen to the senior quit members...I still consider myself new at this...

Best wishes from 🇨🇦xxx

No way!! 10 weeks is too long to give up! Please don't smoke... You're doing so well.

I go for walks when I'm sresssed out or chew onsugarless gum.

Or even a straw. I remember checheing,on a straw I kept in my car for when I drove. Sound silly, probably looked silly too, BUT it worked.

Hope you're doing well and I hope you didn't smoke before we could all get to you. 😫😫😫😫😫😫

Hi Ryan looks like your having a wobbly one, but at least you are being honest about your feelings and that's good. You have COPD which will worsen if you start again - look at what you have done already 10 weeks off the fag pest - that takes strength courage and guts to propel yourself on the great quit you have going. You will almost certainly regret lighting up again .  I admit I want a fag every day but I don't need a fag and nothing bad is going to happen if I don't have one, Lots of ex smokers say they want a cig but are not having one - the minute of longing passes and we move forward. You have already invested 10 weeks, been firm and resisted smoking - that takes supreme effort.   Monky and Droopy have given some good tips for coping with stress.  Wishing you all the best. JC

Hi Ryan please don't start smoking again. It will only make your COPD worse. I have COPD too. Staying off the fags will slow down the progression of the disease. And in the long run you will feel a lot better. What stage are you at. You are doing very well at the moment. I know how you are feeling. For some the urge never goes away. I find if you have water with your meal that takes away the urge. And I try to go to places were you can't smoke. Take care x

Well done Ryan I am glad you resisted the fag pest and I had faith in you to keep going especially after 10 weeks!!!. I think you should go and give yourself a treat from your quit money unless you have something else special in mind. Your COPD won't be getting any worse and you should feel immensely PROUD of yourself. Keep it going - Take Care JC

Hi Ryan, stress is really hard to deal with at times and yes there are times we feel like giving in☹️ but honestly it won't make you feel any better. Do whatever it takes to NOT light up. This will pass, so hang in there and chew gum or tic tacs. I use the breathing excercises, that what gets me through tough times. Please try it coz it really helps. Stay close to this site as we understand how difficult this can be. I'm rooting for ya, you CAN do it🚭🚭🚭🚭👍🏼

10 weeks Ryan, Fantastic . Don't you dare give in Please you will regret it. I know how you feel. Dealing with stress is hard, and we know cigs don't  really help, although in the past we always reached for them. I now have to breath , walk anything to take my mind of them. Stay strong , you can get through this xx
