Why in my head does it seem as its a constant battle between having a fag and not having a fag it would be so nice just to have something different to think about it seems its a constant struggle to get through 1 min 1 hour 1 day but I am doing it slowly but surely

It is tough at the beginning, but try and hang in there as it does get easier☺️

Think about how much healthier you are going to be, what you are going to spend the money that you are not spending on cigarettes👍👍

Have a read of some of the pinned posts as these will help you.

The Allan Carr easy way to quit book is a worthwhile read as it challenges your thinking. This can be downloaded as a free pdf just google it.

Keep reminding yourself why you are quitting☺️☺️☺️

You are doing really well..😀😀

Like GloLin has said you're doing really well. Most of us find that all we can think about is smoking, but this does get less the longer your quit. Have a few snacks around the house (fruit nuts etc. ) nibble on those when you get the urge to smoke.

Take care xxx

Hey Donesmoking,

Well done on your first week, what a great achievement. You're right to take it one minute, one hour, one day at a time. Baby steps..... You'll soon be running!

First week is tough - no doubt about it. Good advice above. Also deep breathing and/or exercise helped me.

Great advice from everyone 😊

You're doing great as will said breathing exercises are great also getting in all the lovely fresh air instead of all the chemicals from cigarettes.

You can do this 👍

YOU can do this! Don't give in. Keep coming here and read the stuff to the right. It's so harmful and tricky!

Good luck and know you have a huge support team here!

Busy yourself? Read? Workout? Walk!!! The walks have been my best friend. Then after I'm done I'm not weezing and my chest feels so good!

🤗🚭👍🏼

It's worth reading the Alan Carr book on stopping smoking. I read it years ago and it did nothing but now I really want to quit I read it again last weekend and it really helps u reframe ur thoughts about quitting and to be positive about it. Worth a read. He says not to use nrt which I couldn't do Iv got patches and gum but I found his psychology of it all very useful.

Worth a read and u can get it free if u google it and doesn't take long to read

😇

Hi donesmokin

I often think about cigarettes but I always think of how my body is healing and I like that better. I don't want to go through that awful withdrawal again because I know if I light up I'll just want to quit again and then I'll have to suffer through withdrawal symptoms again. Not fun. I got really sick and now I'm finding not lighting up and cravings easier to deal with

Hang in there🍀
