Woke up early, feeling good. Put patch on, set up my inhaler, so here I go.

Thank you everyone for your support, encouragement and advise yesterday, it will defiantly help me get through this quit.

10 hours gone since my final ciggy, feeling good.

Hi Deb9795, a huge, huge welcome to Quit Support :-)

You've made a crackin' decision for the benefit of your health and we'll march with you all the way through your journey :-)

You sound as if you have armed yourself really well and have already been given some great advice already from our lovely members :-)

Whilst finding yourself in a great frame of mind, it is worth planning what you will do when surrounded by smokers - putting a firm plan in place now will stop you from succumbing to temptation later ;-)

The patch will be helping you now, see how you go and either use the inhalator as and when you feel a slight temptation.

If you find that you are feeling tempted a bit too often, then use the inhalator on the hour every hour initially. This will help maintain blood-nicotine levels.

The inhalator does not deliver nicotine into the lungs; Nicotine is absorbed in the mouth and throat.

Pete has advised on the best way to use it, many folks think that you puff on it as you would a cigarette and then find that it doesn't agree with them or gives them a touch of heartburn :o

Keep us posted on how it's going and remember to stay positive :-)

Thanks for the welcome, so far so good although I had a dentist appointment for a check up and I needed some treatment. So now I have a numb mouth and lip so even if I wanted to smoke I couldn't haha. Staying strong will get through this day and the others to follow x

Ok the numbness in my mouth has gone, but the tooth I had the work on is terrible😦 I know they said it could hurt a bit for a few days but I didn't have any pain when I went for my check up. On the good side it's one of my front lower teeth so even if I wanted to smoke I couldn't 😆. Feel good otherwise hope everyone else is having a good day ☺
