Didn't think I'd manage it as been so stressed out lately with my kids bills new job but still going strong. But the other day I had a very very strong craving for cig as work was so stressful and understaffed so was here there an everywhere but I resisted temptation just wish the feeling would go away evil nicotine but I won't turn back my children and partner said they didn't think I would make it this far

We have all been where you are. Its those little moments those little waves of craving your evil little friend.

Gum has really worked for me. Now I keep my little list tohand of what happens if I light a little tube of dried leaves for two minutes. All you get is a rush you will need to repeat in an hour. All the really hard work is done, its going to get easier. You have done so well.

Keep it going.

Jim

Well done Leanne - the longer you do without - the easier it gets. I've been out in social situations where I would usually have a cigarette and have managed to resist...do it for your children too!

Keep on keeping on

Leanne, I am so, so proud of you as I know how much you really want to do this :-)

You are getting there and as everyone says - the more times you say no, the easier it will become :-)

Remember, whether you smoke or not - that craving will go away :-) as Jim says though - choose to smoke then you'll only have to go through it all again not too long afterwards :o

Keep our NOPE rule in the back of your mind and you'll be grand :-)

Well done Leanne, 4 weeks is fantastic..... glad you didn't give in to temptation hun as it wouldn't have given you an extra pair of hands at work, it wouldn't have relieved the stress but it would have made you feel awful for giving in after 4 weeks...!!!

Well done and keep up the great work :)

For the first 2 weeks I was literally following smokers down the road, crossing over with them, walking past work so I could get a little whiff. Like some tobacco pervert LOL

There is a point where your craving for the smell/taste passes over from needing it to, "oof that smells not so good".

I gave up for 5 years before and being younger and fool hardy , forgot how hard it was to quit, so started having the occasional one, which turned into 5 , which turned into a pack of 10 " and I wont smoke them all in a day" which turned into "its cheaper to buy 20".

That strong craving you had was from stress which is a trigger that you have now conquered. For myself that 2 minutes of inhaling just used to plug my body with toxic chemical for a few minutes that would distract your thoughts. Smoking more and more when I was stressed then used to make me feel sick, heady, then guilty because I have a 4 year old girl whos daddy stunk of smoke and was out of breath most of the time. Im stressed today , having a cigarette is not going to get rid of that.

In fact I'm imagining the guilt and pain of throwing all the hardwork out the window for a little craving that's going to go in a few minutes.

Right Im going to put the kettle on and have my 26th cup of tea for the day!

Well done Leanne! I'm just behind you quit-time wise & it's my kids that make me want to smoke. I think it's more the escaping outside for 10 mins though rather than the actual cigarette I miss :-)
