Don't know what's up today.

Not sure what's up today but I could honestly quite cheerfully sell my soul for just one puff on a cig.I'm nearly at 6 months quit & haven't felt like this since week 1 or 2. I don't keep enough money around to go and buy cigs because I knew there would be times like this, and I also knew that I've done this before & caved in.Was making a pair of earrings which I just can't get right & I actually thought oh go and have a cig and come back to them & then I remembered I don't smoke anymore,I honestly could've cried.Just gotta get on with it I guess, serves me right for getting smug about this whole thing.Hope everyone is O.K, Pinkiezoom where are you ? Hugs H x

Ysd, you are so very sensible. Must be something in the air as the last 2 nights I have been having a ciggy, luckily in my dreams. Thats nearly 2 years ago since I had a ciggy.

Hey there my friend Jilly, Always there with a wise word x Just so very very odd this craving I think. In the past when things went wrong I had a little ritual where I would sit on my back step with a glass of wine and a cig and think about stuff and then sort it all out.My brain goes back to those times,my heart knows better !! Won't cave in because I'm absolutely positively determined to get to a year, just 6 months and 5 days to go.

Beth treasure,

A bit worried about our Al,heard nothing for a couple of days & normally she's here everyday.Just hoping that she'll read this and post something.Hope you're O.K.How good are you,6 months already, when will you be at 7 ? What are you doing with the money you've saved? I'll be back to my normal self tomorrow or as soon as I can get my hands on some 10mm glass pearls that are actually ROUND & not shaped like a bloomin doughnut.(long story!!) Have bitten the bullet & ordered 10 Swarovski glass pearls in a very light rose colour.Maybe the earrings will work with those,if not I swear you'll hear the screams. Will post pics when they're done.Hugs Helen.

Aw Helen

The earrings sound like they will be lovely, I would never have patience to make intricate things like that - clever girl. Yes would love to see some pics.

Yes come on Al, what are you up to?

I'm just past my seventh month now, can't quite believe it, spending most of my money on clothes as I have gone up a size lol but what the heck still better than smoking.

Xx

Helen, your doing just fine gal :) :)

I am like you, cos if something went wrong, or wouldn't go the way I wanted it to, then out come the flippin fags !!

I think some of it is just habit :o and some of it is, your looking for help ! Soo you have to find something else to combat this situation in future eh :) go suck a dummy, kick hubby, thump a cushion, nip outside and take some deep breaths of fresh air, try to find something that will help you in stressful times, instead of thinking mr nic will help eh :o

Hey Helen, only just catching upand reading your post sorry...

Stay positive... You are almost at your 6 month mark. I believe that there is no way you'll cave in now. See these feelings as more of a 'distant longing'. You've remained quite upbeat throughout this whole journey. We're told it can take around 12 weeks for the nicotine receptors to down regulate. What if there were the last few stronger stragglers? If this is the case, when they come knocking - welcome them in through the front door and show them swiftly through to the back door. Have a smoke now and you'll be right back to where you do not want to be.

You can do this,it's just a feeling that has caught you unexpectedly. You're a strong lady, just think about it - if another member was going through all the above, and what advice you would give them?

Let us know how you're doing, pease don't let funny shaped round beads get the better of you ;-)
