Good morning Madi and everyone else

Been awake for 2.1/2 hours, walked the hounds and had me breakfast (porridge and slieced banana - luvverly) but there's a brew if anyone cares to join me.

Now got blue sky and that yellow sun yet again although it was quite cloudy first thing but lo and behold the forescasters are being proved correct as it's going to be an absolutely fantastico day so let's all enjoy it.

My blank canvas, well Madi, I always did like bright colours so besides sky blue and sun yellow, I think I will experiment with grass green and black earth and add a few others and mix them up and see what we get!

Have a lovely stressfree, smokefree, day to each and every single one.

Catch you all later hopefully.

Fresh tea in the pot or coffee still on offer if anyone cares to partake!

Morning sunlovers :)

Welcome home bunnysue, your holiday sounds like heaven, and brilliant lady! Absolutely smoke free! Congratulations!

Love the picture mad, am on it! Kath, enjoy those colours, paint a great day :)

Andi you are a marvel, already spun and sweated out, job done, so if you wanted you could do zilch all day, totally guiltfree :) but I guess you have even more energy cos you build it up? Pass some over here will you? :)

Sue, it is these bright mornings maybe with the early waking. I get fooled into thinking it's time to get up

Just cleared a traffic jam of cones with absolutely no work being done on the road. Half an hour of grumping up steadily till the inhalator had to come out, it helped, but what helped more was getting thro the jam. We're back on track to see a car in a garage to replace this one.

Could murder a coffee!

Good morning to all whether you be an early or a late riser.

Just got back from the weekly shopping fiasco - battle of wills between himself and me as to why we don't need half the stuff he wants to buy! men! sure he does it on purpose hoping I will leave him at home! Is it me or is it really every time you shop it costs you more but you seem to have less? His reaction is well you can't take it with you so may as well spend it - in a sense he's right but as I want to live to a ripe old age think I'll be cautious and not spend it all at once!

Talking of spending, we are now the proud owners of another classic Ford. Bought last week and is being shown at a local show for the first time tomorrow. So guess what folks, car cleaning duties x not just 1 :O but x 2 :O :( but he has promised to give me a hand but I will believe that when it actually, physically happens. Oh well, least that keeps me busy and my mind off them there things :D :) and daft as it soundsm, I quite enjoy it but don't tell him that or he will never lend a hand!

Oh he loves me really as he's just brought me in a cup of tea so if anyone cares to join us - and just noticed that it's 11.01 am so that means its elevenses time so home made biscuits are also here ready and waiting.

pad1.whstatic.com/images/th...

And as it's Saturday, let's really push the boat out and so yes, it's proper butter on them there US style biccies.

Anyone for a second cuppa? And biscuit if you like!!

Enjoy the day everyone and catch you all later possibly.

OOH! Hi kath I have just got in and ready for a cuppa ta. Wheres the motor show tomorrow?

Hello Bunnysue, So glad you enjoyed your holiday. So much easier when you don't smoke. :)

Hi Sue , I too woke up with the sunshine , at least it makes us all feel better. 8 - )

Morning Andi, hope your not too tired with your gym. enjoy your day.

Morning Betts, Hope you managed your coffee. As for road works being done, why work when you can get extra time on a sunday and extra sunbathing. It seems that's what we all pay road taxes for.

Mad, like the piccy your right life is too short.

Catch up later. xx

Hi all, hope you are having a lovely Saturday, it is so beautiful out up here today. Been up with the lark so have got loads done so I am off out into the garden shortly. Just me and the cat :) How I like it. looking forward to this evening, having a wee night with my friend who has his first round of chemo on Monday. Send all your positive vibes his way Monday :):) So I am cooking he's supplying the wine. Have a good one all x

It's me again everyone

So much for the car cleaning - there's flipping cricket on TV so guess where my other half is - yep, you're all sooooooooooo rightttttttttttttt! Watching the flaming cricket - well I suppose he's with me in mind if nothing else.

Thirteen hours now into my cold turkey and temptation when I'm cleaning the cars on my own is just there but I'm not gonna because I don't want fag ash all over what I've just cleaned. Not even going to take a break and sit in the sunshine and smoke because I don't want to. Unbelieveable but very true after using that inhalator I now know what gives me that crappy 'orrible taste in my mouth and it's them there fags! My resolve is strengthening this morning not weakening.

Car show is at a local public park in Barnsley and it's a judged one so you never know. What I like about them shows the most is the silly grin :D that appears on a lot of mens faces. Not just those in there 40's but older and younger ones as well. There also the amount of double takes that occur on a regular basis during the day when they realise that I'm not just sitting watching the car I also drive it as well! It's amazing how many nice people there are out there and have decided that for every bad and nasty one there are at least 3 if not 4 nice ones. If the nice ones got as much publicity as the nasty bad ones perhaps the papers would be full of good news as well as bad!

Well, this isn't getting the cars done ready for tomorrow but must admit it's thirsty work so am putting the kettle on again and there's just a few biscuits left for latecomers or seconds for those that want them.

Take care everyone - remember your sun cream if your lapping this weather up!

Good to see everyone is enjoying the day here.

I know what you mean abut being alone with the cat, I like that too mummyquits, peaceful, no-one to have to see to. Have a good evening tonight, and we'll be sending good vibes for the rest of the weekend and Monday too :)

Good on you Kath! Get that polishing arm going :) His lordship isn't half as healthy in his hobbies as you by the sound of it.

Got 3 small coffees in the garage, jillygirl, it took ages to finish the deal, and I was practising being friendly assertive to get a good deal, it worked to all our satisfaction, I think :)

Well folks we just bought a car and are trying a different route back, hopefully real quick, cos I can't wait to get out in the garden, and join you all for a cuppa :)

Good evening everyone,

Isn't it a beautiful evening. Today I went out with one of my son's and finally got into our local hobby shop. I've been a bit down in the dumps the last week so bought myself an embroidery kit. I have embroidered before, but not for many years. I learnt as a child from my grandmother. I bought a kit that has a number of different stitches and am using it as a practice piece. I nearly gave up because it took me ages to do a French knot. After about an hour I realised that I was only following half of the instruction, the last half at that.......lol. Then it reminded me of when my grandmother and mother were trying to teach me to knit. I'm left handed so they thought I should be taught to knit the opposite way to a right handed person. You can imagine the fun and games because they were both right handed....lol. Anyway, it has certainly cheered me up because it has brought back happy memories and I've now completed 3 flowers using the French knot. I don't think I've lost my touch.

Have a wonderful evening everyone.

Sally... :)

in reply to cleopetra

That's good. I'm left handed too. I was taught to knit at work when I was pregnant with my daughter. It took me most of the nine months to knit one cardigan and even then someone at work sewed it all together for me. It lasted though, she certainly got her wear out of that cardigan :D haha, definitely an undomestic goddess me.

:) I made my oldest son a pair of trousers when he was about 4 and was well chuffed when someone asked me where I had bought them. I'm not really sure why I stopped. The great thing now is that being left handed is not such as problem with scissors, etc.

in reply to cleopetra

I don't really have much of a problem with being left handed, I just got used to using either hand. I use my left hand to write with and to use a spoon but otherwise tend to use my right had for scissors, potato peeler, can opener etc If I go ten pin bowling I use either hand, when one arm gets tired I use the other :D

Good evening everyone.

Sally, I used to do tapestry - did do one that had some emboidery in it but never got too good at all the different stitches. I vaguely remember we did a little bit in primary school. :o

Betts, think you'll have fun cruising round in your new wheels tomorrow, I think a jaunt out to the country will be in order. :)

Kath, think your arm must be about dropping off now with all that polishing. ;-)

Mum, enjoy your evening in the garden and I hope you don't get bitten to death - would take your mind off you-know-what! :D

Sin, did you get out on the bike today? I've been meaning to catch up with you all week to congratulate you on the arrival of Olivia. :)

Hi Pete,

Yep, it seems to be. :)

in reply to andi22

Aww thanks Andi. Am going to put some pictures on tomorrow of my new little bundle. (I use the term 'little' loosely :D ) Gosh she was a shock coming out at 8lb 12oz, scans and midwives had predicted around the 7lb 9oz mark that her brother was and she's already put 3 oz on since Monday and sleeps through from around midnight to 6.00am.

Yes I've been out on my bike twice today. To my daughters this morning to see how she is and have a cuddle with my little cutie pie but didn't cos the midwife came round to do heel pricks and weighing and stuff so me and hubby went out for a walk and found places we never even knew existed, so pretty round where my daughter lives and its only about 4 miles away from us. Then went out on another bike ride this afternoon to buy in a stash of nicotine lozenges from Home Bargains - only £2.99 for 36. Oh and on way back from daughters called in at Asda to buy a loaf of bread and came out with a TV stand and a lamp. Umm how to carry home a glass TV stand on a bike ???? Ring son and ask him to pick it up in his car :) An expensive bloody loaf of bread eh, that'll teach me to take hubby with me.

Then on Thursday evening just gone, went on bike ride to my mums (12.5 mile round trip) to take them some gigantic field mushrooms cos my dad loves them and we had a box full and it was a lovely evening for a bike ride. How about you? I hear you've been spinning today. Don't think I could do spinning, my knees are getting worse and worse with every bike ride I go on.

Hey BunnySue,

A big welcome back gal :) :) :) am so glad you enjoyed your break :) :) huh alrite for some ;) :D :D

Beautiful evening here as it is everywhere but being so near the top of the Pennines, there is now a distinctly cool (cold?) breeze but can't complain because it has been a glorious day everywhere and still, if the forecast is correct for once, two more like days yet to come.

Car is now ready for the show and I'm absolutely jiggered but at least the car looks well. Good job himself decided not to take the other one as the battery is as flat as a - well, sure you get the picture :-/ So himself and a friend have just spent the better part of an hour taking the old battery off and putting his friends spare on so at least he can drive it to the garage on Tuesday as long as it ain't raining. Fact of life, spend years hankering after these type of cars and they spend more time in the garage at home or the local garage being 'cared for'. Think the order of the day in our household is cars first, dogs second and me a very poor third! :D :D Good job I know him or else there could be murder comitted!

Going to spend a bit of time now getting all the food ready for tomorrow - sure he's got holla legs or maybe it's because of the fresh air - then going to watch a bit of tv and then off to bed because I could, literally, sleep on a clothesline at the mo.

May get on in the morning before we go but not too sure so whilst I wish everyone a great nights sleep with plenty of luverrly dreams I am also going to wish everyone a happy, stress and smoke free day tomorrow.

And remember people, if you're out in the sun don't forget the cream and the sunglasses 8-)

Keep on :) as the whole world will :) with you I'm sure.

Night folks

Hiya Sin, got caught up on the phone - my friend from America - talk about motor-mouth, can't get a word in edgeways. :o :D :D

I got out on my bike this afternoon. I think it was the first time since February - oh, apart from that day I got that other bike and took it back! :o :P I think I did about 20 miles. :) Went to the seafront and hugged the coast for a while then found some friends in so I could use their loo ad have a cuppa. :) I planned it really well cos I would be against the wind all the way out. How come that when I came home it was against the wind again!? I don't get that! :o :D :D

in reply to andi22

Me neither Andi, its annoying tho, am sure its that wind that keeps slowing me down.
