Cooking! Made loads of different foods, particularly first couple of weeks!!! ๐๐๐Xxx
Sleeping
Keeping hands and mind occupied. For me knitting complex Aran garments with loads of complex cables.
Obnoxiously sour candy, chewing gum and, believe it or not, the occasional ice cold glass of whole milk helped me through everything.
I used nicotine replacement lozenges and I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms or cravings
Ecig helped me to quit I couldnโt have done it without it as a heavy smoker of 2 to 3 packs a day Iโm 16 months clear of cigs .
for me it was a combination of breathing exercises, vaping, moaning to friends (!), ensuring EVERYONE knew I was quitting so they could give encouragement if needed and work (I did a fair amount of overtime during those first couple of weeks!)
chewing mint gum without nicotine is my best crutch
Strawberry chewing gum works for me. ๐
A few long deep breaths. (almost like "smoking" fresh air)
Occupying hands I found the most helpful. Went back to knitting and crocheting for prem and stillborn babies. Hadn't done either since my own were expected babies but had always enjoyed these crafts.
I changed my daily routine, just small changes to the times when I would have usually had a cig.
I started DIY projects in the house to keep me busy.
I checked into this site & got encouragement from all the other quitters.

For me being chronically sick forced me to quit and so I had to deal with physical and emotional withdrawals by default. Lol. I just couldnโt smoke. After four months, Iโm feeling better physically and with plenty of extra weight and stress still hanging around, I still have strong cravings...but as Iโm getting older, I just want to quit before I get really sick, and vanity helps too. Donโt want to look old, smell bad, worry about where to smoke, piss off an employer, feel ostracized and be broke. ๐๐๐ป
