I'm in the majority also. I thought I was in a minority of people who waited so long to quit. This poll makes me feel better about myself.

Hi,

Yes. I panicked because I'm in the 40 to 50 range. 20 year habit, 2 packs a day

I am in the panic group too :) I am very surprised it was so low in the 26-30 group. I come under the second majority on the official list. x

Not so surprised. Most under 30's think 💭 they are invincible, it isn't until they're older and the medical problems arrive, or they start families that the truth about My Nic becomes clear. I wish there was some way we could get through to these kids 😊🙂

Good to know that so many 'older' folks have quit! Now if we can only get through to the young ones...

The only way to help youngsters is to ban the selling of cigs. And that will never happen.

Yip I'm also in the panic group, and that's exactly why I stopped after 30 years !!! Just sad to think it took that long to stop or even try...

I started smoking light in 2010, but didn't start heavy (a pack a day) until mid 2011 after joining the Army. I just quit at the age of 28 it's now 2017!

7yrs is a safe time for me to quit! I'm now on 7days and counting.

WOW! 13-18. that number is low. This is the age me and my wife started smoking. We dated through high school, lost touch for about a year (long story on that but I was kicked out of school for a website and board room and now low and behold we have facebook) Anywho we met back up, got married and been married sense.. But to stay on subject I am surprised to see how low this number actually is

Oh and to those curious, back then it was dialup, no social media.. My idea to connect schools together VIA web and board room. For 6 months it was great, then as luck would have it, some went on and posted bad stuff. There wasn't laws back then protecting content owners from trolling and bad posts.. So the solution was pin all the rumors on me and kick me out of all Detroit schools. So I had a struggle with that and was amazed to see how technology advanced and places like google, and youtube don't get held accountable for what people post!! Not sure why I feel so comfortable posting this here, but amazing true life story. 15 years later married and standing strong together

I am 72 and I have smoked since I was thirteen. I am on my umpteenth try to stop. Too late, probably.
