I wish i had never started in the first place, but it's never too late to give up. I just wish i had done it earlier. Well done everyone.!

My 'other' response is that I look better since quitting smoking - my teeth are whiter, my hair is healthier, my skin is softer, my complexion is more even and (having gained around 10lbs in those first few weeks) I'm 7lbs lighter than when I started my quit. It's taken 4 months to get to this point but I never could have imagined how much of a difference quitting smoking would make to my appearance for the better.

Thanks for the hope. I joined because this place actually seems like a community of good support and great people. Some of the other forums are trolls and spammers but this comment was indeed helpful

Kids don't understand addiction. It bothered me when they would ask me why I still smoke when everyone knows it kills you. Never had a good answer to that question.

Health I'm not going to comment on, on here. Money saved - I smoked rollies and wasn't heavy so not a lot of financial savings. We've a touring caravan, retired so can go off as often as we wish and must admit On a lovely evening having a glass of wine sitting outside and can smell ciggie smoke drifting in the air is cruel! But I've risen above it, have another sip of wine Ann, get past it and move on! Some people say they hate the smell of ciggie smoke I'm afraid it's a touch of nostalgia for me so can be a bit difficult at times. I love the fact that my children and my grandchildren are happy that I don't smoke anymore and it is nice to have no smoke smells in the house anymore. The trouble is you don't notice it yourself until it isn't there. My husband has never smoked, four children three of which have never smoked.

I married the most gorgeous girl in the world. She can't cope with cigarette smoke & if I were still a smoker I would rate a second glance.

Not being treated like a leper anymore by non-smokers and knowing I am still strong enough to give up again after being struck down with a severe chronic pain condition. Go me!!

I still have the stinky smoke smells in the house because my husband still smokes though!

After quitting I smell great ,more money in the bank ,whiter teeth and many many more.

What I noticed right after quitting is peace of mine .😌

.Why smoking when the whole planet it's been affected one way or another by cancer..

All the sacrifice at the beginning of quitting is totally worth it ..And for those that are still thinking :It does get better ..I'm free and proud for ever 👍

Hi Simbalage, welcome to quit support, lovely to have you join us. Can I ask that you write a new post rather than adding to a 5month old one. Just so we don't miss you. We don't want you to think we are rude!
