learn how to make your own Juice (quit easy) and you can make your own flavors and strengths and know exactly what is in it. Simply PG, VG, Flavor and nicotine. I use MyFreedomSmokes to get the supplies but figured being it worked for me as well and has made the whole experience better as I can make like 0.2mg batches this might be helpful

I started with champix... Did half the course and finished cold turkey...champix really did great at getting me started after 14 years of trying everything else... I could not use the Vape though I have a nice one... But it made me cough non stop... I have the most horrendous sinuses, so quitting was a must

I quit cold turkey and it was hell!!!! I took the view that if I was going to quit then I was only going to go through it once, I didn't want to give up the tar and then have to go through it again with the nicotine, which is actually the addictive part as we all know. The withdrawal symptoms as far as I was concerned made me feel really ill and it took me a while to realise that this is what it was. Having said that I wouldn't do it any other way but you do have to want to quit!

Whatever way as long as you give up then we are all winners. I went the Cold Turkey way along with a jam jar of cigarette butts and water. If at any time I felt like a cigarette I would take the top off the jam jar and smell the awful aroma. Cured in an instant of wanting a sneaky ciggie.

Allen Carr's book had me wanting to not smoke before I'd finished reading it. Had tried a year before but only read the first chapter. I think you need to be ready.

Cold Turkey with the help of Allen Carr and Joel Spitzer. Not easy but very effective.

Cold Turkey which was probably the second hardest thing I have ever done with the first hardest being watching and caring for my beloved Martin who died of lung cancer in January. Watching the light in his beautiful grey/blue eyes fade and dim and then go out will haunt me for the rest of my days.

I used patches for 14 days and never touched cigarettes since then. More than a yr now smoke free

I used cold turkey at first, and willpower and determination. Then Ecigs, ( now i'm addicted to those, but healthier i guess. ), need to get off ecigs. Would never go back to smoking.!

in reply to

I haven't found any Ecig that's zero nicotine ..I vape with the vaping pen device and buy the liquid that's zero nicotine ..

Incidentally, cold turkey is really difficult, but if it's a success then very rewarding and we should be proud of ourselves. Well done to all who have managed to quit. No one knows unless they've actually been there.

I wasn't planning to quit, just cut down to save money, bit I found that I forgot to smoke and preferred vape, although I had to wait until technology had advanced enough to have powerful variable wattage devices and good refillable tanks to have enough nicotine. I have not smoked for 6 years now bit I still vape and have no intention of stopping. I enjoy vaping as I used to enjoy smoking and think it is wrong to call e-cigs quit devices. People use them to quit but they are a consumer product, not a medical one, and if cessation becomes the accepted reason for vaping, many smokers will never consider it because they don't want to be classed as addicts who need treatment, or just don't want to quit. The general reason should be that somebody wants to switch from smoking to vaping, not use vaping solely in order to quit smoking.

Swedish snus should be permitted, as the data from Sweden shows that those who switch from smoking to snus do not suffer diseases caused by smoking.. .

I'd never heard of suns before.... had to google it 😂😂

6 years.... wow. xxx

I think ecigs are a very good way of quitting smoking. You are not subject to all those bad chemicals that are in cigarettes. Nicotine is the addictive part, but not as dangerous as all those chemicals. So by using ecigs instead of smoking cigarettes you are actually quitting smoking. However, ecigs can be harmful longterm , thats why i would like to quit those too.

Wasn't cold turkey but the power of the mind. Read Allen Carr's Easy way to stop smoking. It worked.

I used chantix for a few months, then I quit having a smoke at my breaks, then quit smoking at home and then gave them up when I drove to work and back. That was the hardest. But I have not had one for over 2 years now. You can do it !!

Anyone use alternative and still (regardless to which) withdrawal? I am not sure why but regardless of the nicotine replacement, there is definitely something in cigs that is more addicting then nicotine! I have read that there is something similar to an antidepressant in a cig and think that is why It always has been a calming effect when I used to smoke but curious reading some of the posts here know I am not crazy
