After 40 plus years smoking I think my affair with nicotine is finally over. I was sick with the flu and a cold for over a month. Then I lost my voice due to phlegm I couldn’t seem to cough up. So somewhere in the back of my head a voice kept saying those cigarettes are going to kill you. Well it put a scare in me to the point I said Midnight 01 January 2018 is it. Actually quite 8 hours before midnight. Well that’s my story. Good luck to all that decided to take the step.

Congratulations, that's such fantastic news and a real achievement! Did you use any nicotine replacement therapy/vaping/medications, or did you just manage to stop on your own? Your story in very inspirational, to kick the habit after 40+ years. Please let us all know how you are getting on! Well done, from all at Quit4Life

Well done Hope, don't' struggle going cold turkey. I had support from Quit4Life with patches and I have managed to be free from my toxic friend 'Ciggie' for two years now, I do get those moments but I know if I give into one then I'll be back on 20 a day before I know it - that's the hold Ciggie has over me but I'm not giving in. You can do it and think of your dog too, when you smoke you're dog is taking it in too. Robin 🐾
