After a long and courageous battle against PSP, but still with laughter and tears, our mum is finally at peace.
Our mum Heather died in St Raphaels Hospice on Friday 1st June surrounded by us all.
Her strength, courage and compassion to the very end has helped us through her difficult and final journey. We take great pride and comfort in knowing that this remarkable and beautiful person was our mum.
We have been overwhelmed by the response to mum’s various postings on the PSP forum and the “INTRODUCING HEATHER EDMONDSON” has had over 19,000 hits. You have all created a true fraternity undoubtedly part of our family. So keep it up and continue to help and support each other and those new subscribers in need.
Thank you everyone for the love and support.
Her memory lives on though you all.

I read this on the other forum and was so very sorry to hear. I had such admiration for her when I used to read her posts. She seemed like a wonderfully strong person with great spirit and, looking at that photo, she was physically beautiful as well! No wonder you are all proud of her.
Your mums posts were the first ones I connected with when joining this forum, so when I read your post about her farewell, earlier today, I had to wait til now, to sit quietly and think about the journey she has been through, and the amazing support you all gave her. Her picture is gorgeous and she was a remarkable lady. We will miss her messages, even though we didnt meet her in person, what a presence she and your family had here in supporting others.
My thoughts are with you all, I know that there is comfort in knowing that she is at peace. I am so glad to hear that you were all with her for her last hours.

Dear Bea...so sorry to hear of your mother's passing but also pleased that she is no longer suffering. I think it helps knowing that she wasn't alone when she passed. It does give some sense of peace. You now need to take time for yourself & your family. Love to all, take care & you will be able to smile again. Love Hazel B xx
I'm new to the group but it sounds like you Mum was an amazing woman. My condolences to you and your family. I hope we live to see this horrible disease cured or least medications that will bring some help to sufferers.
Didn't know your mom but anyone who endures PSP is a hero and an example for us all. Fill me in please. How long did your mom live after diagnosis? Was it pneumonia or something else that took her from you?
I'm also new to this wonderful site. So sorry for your mothers passing. I didn't know your mum either but it would appear she was beautiful and courageous both on the inside and out. May she and your family now be at peace from this horrible disease. My husband was misdiagnosed in 2006 and has progressed considerably. He is 71 and we live in Canada. Best regards. Linda
I was so shocked and saddened to read the news this morning about your mum. Oh dear, yet another courageous lady who has sadly left this world. Such a rotten illness but so bravely born by such a lovely lady. May she now have everlasting peace and my my thoughts and condolences go to all your family.I am sure she will always remain in your thoughts.
