Hi Grannyeliza - my mum used to be a secretary who could touch type. For a while she gradually reduced how much she typed in emails. We all got used to lots of typos. She relies on autocomplete, autocorrect and very short replies now eg she types T and it comes up with Thanks! We haven’t tried speech recognition as her voice is deteriorating as much as her hand control. If your voice is still relatively clear then I would encourage you to explore it if someone can help you set it up. Don’t worry at all about typos and mistakes on this forum - we all really understand and appreciate the effort that goes into interacting with the forum.

I’m typing with one finger nowadays. I used to create computer programs can’t even understand the code now. I went from 2 hands, to one hand, then down to a finger. I use a stylus to click buttons, etc, because I can’t produce the right pressure or keep my finger from wobbling around.

I have run-ins like this multiple times a day.. and it’s verrrry frustrating.

Grannyeliza... I'm down to two finger typing as well. Voice recognition is a great tool, but for those of us with altering voices, it's not of much use. Predictive text, auto correct and autocomplete are great as well as are several online editing programs... including Read Back. Aphasia is frustrating for all those trying to communicate either verbally or through the written word. Sometimes I wonder if I should bother writing at all for all the squiggles and highlighted words and sentences. A paragraph can look more like a neon sign when completed.
