My dad is finally at peace after suffering from this awful disease over the last 11 years. I think he waited for my mum to go home before he passed away. I’m hoping that the image of his last breath will leave my memory and the wonderful memories of my dad will take that place soon.

Completely understand how you are feeling right now. Words at this time can often feel so empty but from my experience the good memories will fill your thoughts when the time is right and that's what you need to head for, again when you are ready. Try to think of his last breath as his release from this awful disease. I hope it helps you to know that the folks on this site totally get it even though we can't change anything.

So so sorry for your loss. We have also been with our dad as he passed last week too. Totally walking almost hand in hand with you on the roller coaster path. Take comfort he’s free of pain. You were there at the end and he knew he was loved and cared for by you and your mum
The good memories will return. It’s only been two weeks for us since dad passed and already people visiting talk of a particular memory and it’s slowly but surely replacing that picture in my head of dad’s final breath
Take the time now to grieve and you’ll start the journey for us all that is ‘after PSP’

I lost my precious husband to PSP early this Friday morning. He fought for 10 years and was the bravest person I know. He never complained. He was a helicopter pilot during the Viet Nam war. I also have the vision of his last struggling breaths in my mind. I hope that both you and I will heal and remember all the wonderful times.
I don’t think you ever get over missing the presence of someone you love. But time gives you sweet memories of their gifts and knowing life is short brings it’s own gift. Here’s to your journey, may you be able to notice the beauty surrounding your life as you can.
