Baclofen - too strong?

Hi. My dad has been prescribed 10mg baclofen twice a day but finds that he has no muscle control and we find moving him around extremely difficult. Is there another muscle relaxant we could be using that might help? Have dropped to one dose a day but he finds the stiffening very difficult to deal with.

I'd talk to his doctor and thoroughly explain your issues. I found with dad there was always a fine line in medicine dosages and it was very easy to cross the line. Maybe, with doctor's consent, try 1.5 doses daily.

Hi, my hubby has been on 3 x 1/2 tablet of baclofen for a few months now and at first it helped a lot with his neck stiffness and stopped him from leaning but a couple of weeks ago he started to lean again so I upped the dose to 3 x 1 tablet which the doctor had said I could when I felt it was necessary. ( we only see the doc once a month so it's down to me to decide, which I don't like but can't find another doctor ).

Anyway hubby became very lethargic and walking became a problem so I have now cut back again to 1/2 tablet mornings and luchtime and 1 tablet in the evening and he seems much better. It really is a case of finding the right dosage.

There are people on here who it didn't suit at all but we find it effective.

Hope you find a solution.

Bon courage
