Dad passed away peacefully at 02:15 Sept 25th. He was with family and our Priest the evening before and seemed to be very at ease. I was there at his passing and it just happened, he was breathing one moment and then he wasn't. At least he is no longer bound by a body that was failing him. The Doctor is listing Corticobasal Degeneration as the cause of death.

My deepest condolences, Ron. That is the same peaceful way Michael passed away 4 months ago. I hope you will find peace as he is. It is so difficult to go on but knowing he is now whole again is a gift.
You were a great son and support, his greatest cheerleader. I hope knowing you did your best brings you comfort.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Losing a father is a huge thing, even when all has gone well in their lives. We PSP/cbd caregivers know how complicated the feelings around a death for our loved ones, are. I want to thank each and every one of you for the warm supporting posts to my family and I. Since I knew Dad's wishes well in advance just about everything was in place. A few hours on the phone was all the legal work I needed to do, now just wait for the various paperwork to catch up.
I plan on staying active on the forum hoping some of my trails and errors can be of use in helping patients and caregivers here.

I tried to get CBD listed on my wife’s death certificate, but was only able to get degenerative disease of the nervous system.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know there is some relief in knowing that he is no longer a prisoner to this horrible disease. I am at a Hospice house now with my dad. He is in his final stages. My prayer is that he will pass quietly and with no pain. He is all I have left of my family and I will miss him dearly but I know he will be so much better off in the arms of God.
